Legit question: Why would unexpended ordinance go to waste on carriers? Do they not re-use it? Or are you just speaking about operational efficiency? (i.e. They don't want to have extra weight back on board? Or they arm their planes with just enough ordinance to handle the mission/sortie they've been assigned to?)

He pitched his ass off, and could have gone longer. The one run he gave up was largely due to Joyce misplaying a ball (subject to interpretation, but I think the route/judgment was terrible). Bottom line: He did a GREAT job.

That's a fair point, but I don't know how you stop that being the process. You can't expect a manager to be totally silent and hope they choose to review a play.

The Astros can't challenge, but the umpiring crew can review plays at their discretion. I don't mind it today. Those were all tough calls, and they got them all correct. I just wish more crews would do it this way rather than worry about their egos.

Seems like some people are trying to make this a bigger thing than it is. Among my close friends, I think I've had similar interactions with almost every one of them at some point over the years. It's just a thing that happens with guys, and it's almost always not an issue within an hour.

It's the extra, "Hey, I'm gonna keep my head on your shoulder just a bit longer than socially normal," that makes it hilarious.

This is the best I've seen him since the Cards days. No clue what he's doing other than the more pronounced crouch and being generally healthy, but he's turned into a f$&$ing beast again. So nice to have that threat backing up Trout in the lineup.

Exactly. It was never a question of who was a better catcher (though I still don't think Mathis was particularly stellar). It was just that Napoli proved to be an offensive weapon that deserved more consistent at bats than he received.

I've been fascinated by military aircraft for a long time and have an Air Force-heavy group of family and friends. Always enjoyed anything to do with P-38s simply because of the unique design. I saw the Thunderbirds at March when I was about 10, and understandably became obsessed with F-16s. I actually saw them again in Wichita when I was about 25, and it was cool in that it felt every bit as exciting as it was when I was a kid. It doesn't matter if you're into aviation or not; I can't imagine anybody not being impressed by that show. My brother-in-law was actually on an emergency response/fire crew for B-2s in the 90s and sent me a picture with a message and autograph from one of the pilots when I was a kid. Might not sound like much now, but it was basically the coolest thing that had ever happened to me at that age.

Random side note here: I wonder what sort of effect the conservative Christian environment has in terms of dealing with sexual impulses and understanding what's normal and what's really wrong. I mean being raised in an environment where one can't even acknowledge being a sexual being outside of marriage probably isn't great for the psyche.
