SInce it's the Angels, this will all end with Heaney rehabbing for 2-3 months only to need TJS anyway.

And those extra 4 or 5 pitchers that make just a start or two really don't figure that much into the success of a team, maybe adding a win or two.
It's mainly the top 7 pitchers that make the bulk of the starts normally.

Oh yeah. I'll be happy if they take that and don't spend more then 10 mil a year on a player. Spread it around the field, and let the actual young superstars we DO have shine.

I like this. I guess spend a couple years trying to sell/pick up high upside guys like lincicum and hoping they preform so you can turn them for prospects, and then spend like a motherf*cker in 2018. Its like...its not fun, but thats how you run a team...

Giavotella started Tuesday against right-hander Edinson Volquez, who does not show much difference in his career splits. Righties and lefties have hit about the same, and in the small sample of this season, he’s actually fared much worse against righties.
Young, on the other hand, has a more traditional track record, doing better against right-handed hitters. This season, lefties came into the game hitting .314 against him, compared with .277 by righties.
 
So do we want the manager to use analytical data or don't we?

I wonder if C.J. Wilson should just be our lefty guy out of the bullpen. 
 
Guess it depends on if Skaggs and Heaney are in the rotation and pitching well when C.J. Wilson comes off the DL.

I would love to get some magic bullet from Cuba that is going to step in and solve our left field problems, but that kinda feels like a fairy tail.

But I still feel something spoiled what could have been a much cooler Trout. I want the Trout from the first 2 full seasons - the 30/30 guy who was also the fastest player in the game, and an insane on-base machine. A reincarnation of Ricky Henderson with more power. 
Now we just have a really good slugger, who is also prone to a lot of strikeouts and an on-base thats lower than the first 2 seasons. While he's amazing now, he doesn't transcend the game like he used to.
