  1. Relatively few people move from LA/OC to Baltimore, STL, etc. It is heavily weighted the other way around. When I was in Baltimore, Angels fans had a stronger chant than the home fans at times. I guess that's an anomaly. Funny thing is that the jumbotron gave fans instructions to "get loud" which is what low self esteem Angels fans complain about here because they believe that right coast fans don't need that in their stadiums. The point being that people who to go to away games tend to be more intense fans so it doesn't help that East coast fans who come to Angels games to show their "pride" of whatever city they're from, which they left, come in force and amp'd. Plus, the general West coast population tends to be more mellow. You either embrace and cherish that across the board or move to the East coast where there's an "edge" or to the midwest where there is nothing to do but devote your time to sports and ribs. As another anecdote, the STL games versus the visiting Dodgers I attended went into extras and half the stadium left. Pujols ended up knocking in the game winning ribeye. I appropriately watched it from my hotel room overlooking the stadium.
  2. Cali can be frustrating even for smaller businesses. If I didn't have close fam here and loved the beach so much, I'd strongly consider moving.

  4. The Yankees losing a chance at Trout with their number 25 pick because they signed Tex makes for a more interesting story for Yankee lovin' ESPN but the reality is that the Mets signing KRod is why we also had the number 24 pick. Although the Angels officially picked Grichuk before Trout, had there been only one pick available for the Angels in the first round they would have selected Trout. Trout ended up bring the pick after Grichuk because any one of many reasons that I don't know, some possibilities being as simple as being announced alphabetically or Bane wanting to tease the Yankees since he knew they also liked Trout. The Angels lost their pick that year because of signing Fuentes. I'm not sure which pick the Halos lost for that brilliant move. In 2009 the Angels also had additional supplemental picks because of losing Tex and KRod. Those two loses resulted in the Angels drafting Tyler Skaggs and Garrett Richards, respectively.
  5. Can't Ianetta move to catcher if Conger gets injured and just lose the DH for remainder of that single game?
  6. US troops are not going to there to prevent an invasion of Poland. Poland is part of the EU and strong ally of the US (Poland went into the mid-east with the US and housed 'interrogation camps' on their soil.) There is little worry from Poland, aside from the irrational, that they will be a target of Russia.
  7. It's best to ignore the troll. He never wants to have a genuine discussion. I'm all for playing devil's advocate but be a person and add value. Unfortunately, he does neither.
  8. Is there a pool on when the team makes it above .500?
  9. The second Frieri eyes start watering, he must be pulled.
  10. I was on board with the other thread about the Angels going on a tear. But now, I'm in your camp. What a difference an inning makes.
  11. What? So many levels of confusion here.
  12. Is there any way to implement a downvote system on threads?
  13. Pitchers pump a fist, walk off the mound before the ump calls strike three, etc. without much repercussion. If they don't want a batter to admire a bomb then make better pitches. It's not like batters are starring down or yapping at pitchers. Pitchers crying of anything that is not directed at them is akin to a kid throwing a tantrum when the square block doesn't fit in the round hole.
  14. For at least three weeks, the Zetas-backed gangsters held Puig, Despaigne and the others at a seedy boarding house while they tried to negotiate with Pacheco and others for payment. If they didn’t get it, they told their captives, they would hack off one of the outfielder’s arms with a machete. http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/sports/2014/04/17/yasiel-puig-was-held-captive-by-smugglers-with-zetas-connection-after-fleeing/
