  1. I just caught the highlights. I'm off to a late start but now I'm beginning to get amped for the season.
  2. "At what point does criticism become construed as negativity?" Can we all agree that it isn't easy to define but you know it when you see it?
  3. "Earlier in the game, the replay procedures forced Scioscia to come out to stall. Erick Aybar had been thrown out at first when he rounded the bag too wide, and Scioscia was looking to his coaches while talking to the umpire, waiting to get a signal to tell him whether replay showed it was a play that should be challenged. The replay proved to be inconclusive and Scioscia didn’t use a challenge." Will this be the norm and result in frustratingly longer games?
  4. There's a difference between someone who dropped the weight and another who has been continuously maintaining/building.
  5. Who insinuated that? This leap then contents 600 pounds of muscle in eight years. Talk about mind-boggling. I have refuted. You have not proven anything. Why do you think that you have? I'll save you time...I've read studies that state what you're saying terms of max muscle growth. And I've read studies that say otherwise. There is "proof" on both sides. You can show me peer reviewed studies that support BS like; eating every four hours to help lose weight, the body can only digest 35 grams of protein per meal, eat one gram of protein per X weight, multivitamins are useless, etc. In my early 20's, I too, became a cert personal trainer. It was a joke. Who here is talking about general scenarios? You're saying that it is not possible but you also say it is possible—for Hamilton.
  6. Allergic to facts? Where'd you get your medical license? Oh wait you're a 'personal trainer', lol! Ah, to be young, naive and self-righteous. LOL at the contradictions and continued hyperbole.
  7. He's 6'3-6'4? From personal experience, it's easier to miss than on someone 5'10, especially when wearing a button down. I'm not saying that he gained 28lbs but it's possible for it not to be obvious.
  8. Being an elite athlete has nothing to do with being able to quickly gain muscle. For example, Michael Phelps is probably not someone who can gain muscle quickly. However if Lebron James drops 30 pounds of muscle, he could likely gain it back very quickly.
  9. You are being dogmatic and are entrenched in groupthink. I'm not saying that you don't know anything about training and nutrition however there are lot of gaps in your experience and knowledge...I was there before as well so this is in no way a personal attack on you. In addition, you are being hyperbolic. I've said my two cents about differences in people which you want to dismiss because it conflicts with your engrained beliefs and limited exposure. I don't have the energy or desire to bring you around because it'll likely be futile given the ridiculous quote above.
  10. Adding muscle is easier for some than others. There are guys with naturally high testosterone levels. LOL at anyone knowing what rate of muscle Hamilton can gain in four months. 28 lbs is not difficult to do for some and impossible for most. FYI, some players even have permission by the league to use testosterone.
  11. It sounds like you need a break, Roger. Go for a walk instead of reading this 'depressing site'. Come back after the Angels 5-0 start.
  12. lol, what? I must have missed the genesis behind this.
  13. Looks to me as if everyone here is just trying to explain how odds are set in Vegas.
  14. Vegas does not make predictions on standings. Vegas makes predictions on how they believe people will place their bets. Then the line moves accordingly to influence betters into a 50/50 split on both sides.
  15. How Las Vegas Sets Sports Betting Odds: ...in sports like Baseball, Football, Hockey, Basketball, Soccer etc. a line is made by a casino line maker based on his or her analysis of the matchup and the anticipated outcome. The casino is essentially a "bookie." After the "opening line" is set, then the line fluctuates based on where the public's money is going. The casino's goal is move the line up or down so that the money is balanced on either side of the proposition and the casino has minimum exposure and makes its money off the vig (the amount it charges to make the bet). Most of the time, this works just fine for the casino, but sometimes line makers are wrong and the casino ends up with unbalanced money and has exposure to the proposition. http://www.quora.com/Sports-Betting/How-does-sports-betting-odds-work
  16. The typical retail employee might want to try work work his/her way up if they don't want a minimum wage paycheck.
