If it makes you feel better, the Dodger picks were about 15 years from conception the last time they won a championship.

The Angels official press release on Jordyn Adams
ANGELS SELECT OF JORDYN ADAMS WITH FIRST PICK (17TH OVERALL) IN 2018 MLB FIRST-YEAR PLAYER DRAFT
ANAHEIM, CA – The Angels selected OF Jordyn Adams out of Green Hope HS (Cary, NC), as their first pick (1st round, 17th overall) in the 2018 First-Year Player Draft.  The announcement was made by Angels’ Director, Scouting Matt Swanson.
Adams, 18, hit .453 (34/75) with five doubles, three triples, a home run and 15 RBI during his senior season at Green Hope. During his junior season at Blythewood HS in South Carolina, he batted .494 with 18 RBIs and one home run. He also stole 26 bases, including five in one game for a school record. He also participated in the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game at Wrigley Field where he hit a walk-off single in the 11th inning. The 6-2, 175 pound outfielder is committed to play both baseball and football at the University of North Carolina.
The Cary, NC native becomes the second consecutive high school outfielder to be selected with the Angels first overall pick. Last season, the Halos chose Jo Adell (Ballard HS in Louisville, KY) with the 10th overall pick. The Angels have selected a high school player with their first selection of the first round in consecutive seasons for the first time since OF Randal Grichuk was selected 24th overall in 2009, (followed by OF Mike Trout at 25th overall) and INF Kaleb Cowart was the 18th overall selection in 2010.
The Angels have held the 17th overall selection in the draft on three previous occasions, with all three players reaching the Major Leagues within three years of their selection: LHP Dennis Rasmussen(1980 Draft), INF Eduardo Perez (1991 Draft) and INF C.J. Cron (2011 Draft).
The Angels active roster currently features seven players who were first round selections, including five who were first round picks by the Halos: Cam Bedrosian (29th overall by Angels – 2010),Kaleb Cowart (18th overall by Angels – 2010), Andrew Heaney (9th overall by Marlins – 2012), Garrett Richards (42nd overall by Angels – 2009), Tyler Skaggs (40th overall by Angels – 2009),  Mike Trout (25th overall by Angels – 2009) and Justin Upton (1st overall by Diamondbacks – 2005).
Adams is the first of two selections the Angels will make on the first day of the draft. The Halos also hold the 57th overall selection, which will come in the second round of the draft.

This has been my intuition recently. You can say that our relief was overworked early on and that's why they are so bad now, but...man, they aren't being asked for a ton right now, and they are really finding new and exciting ways to not come through.

Glad we won, but that's just unacceptable.
6 of those weren't even on the corner.
    The Rangers had 2.
    It almost cost the game.
I have yet to see a site that tracks umpire accuracy.  That's a little suspicious to be honest.  We have catcher framing stats.
    How about a little transparency.

Actually enjoyed last nights game. I watched for a solid 8 innings, turned it off with a 2-1 lead and didn't look back. When I finally checked the score, I could just laugh it off because I didn't actually have to live through it.

So I just wanted to start off with an apology for being down this afternoon. This was scheduled, but no down time was expected as it was a package I purchased to tune up my database and apache side of things after the Monday debacle. Go Daddy F'd a database table, so they had to repair it today.
I'm locked into GoDaddy for the next 10 months so it is what it is, but I have the highest level of server possible. Just some bad luck and a bad forum software update a few weeks back. Just a shitty past few months in terms of up time.
That said... We're not ESPN, we're not MLB, we're not some other high profile network that can guarantee 100% server, forum uptime. Though after learning some tricks and server maintenance tips on Linux (I'm a Windows server guy, that does software engineering & account management for work) I think we're in good shape going forward.
The entire day today was frustrating and exhausting. But it made me realize a few things...
While nothing is guaranteed, the interaction and friendships that have been formed here trump everything else. So I will work harder in making sure that this home is up and running, 24/7.
Long day, going to bed. Thank you for your patience.❤️

No it’s called missing your spot. Maldonado is not calling for a hanging breaking ball or splitter right down the chute.

What are you even talking about.  The last 1-2 pitch was a splitter no where near the middle of the plate.  The one before that was a splitter that didn’t split.  Stop blaming the catcher, when the pitcher misses his spot.
