  1. He has arguably the best raw power in the league, some teams will be interested for sure.
  2. I read that as saying trumbo for miley, trumbo for Cahill, or trumbo for Skaggs+
  3. If we get two decent starting pitchers and go into the season with the current bullpen, we can always make a move during the season to strengthen it if needed.
  4. It depends. In my opinion, if it's a guy about to hit FA then no, but if it's a Garrett Richards type that's young, then yes.
  5. If Tampa Bay expects/will get a boatload of top prospects for two years of David Price at a lot more money than Howie Kendrick, then I think we should expect to be able to get a back of the rotation starter for Howie. (I'm not saying Howie Kendrick is on the same level as David Price)
  6. FIP takes home runs nto account but not singled doubles and triples, which is why you can't just use it by itself. You have to analyze each pitcher on a case by case basis
  7. I'm hoping the Yankees sign him or Jimenez since they won't forfeit a draft pick, and then the Angels can get Garza or some other pitcher for cheaper than expected.
  8. But 8 of Pujols 10 years will be during Cano's, it's not like they were signed 10 years apart.
  9. It's the beginning of December and only a couple SP's have signed...
  10. After seeing Ortiz this year I don't see how anyone can say Pujols can't put up .300/30/100 or better. Unless it's all steroids helping Ortiz and Pujols isn't on them, but that's a whole different subject.
  11. Yes we are, for the sixth and seventh inning maybe the occasional eighth. Also, why are we comparing our bullpen to the A's?
  12. Those people might have some good puns by using "trader" instead of "traitor", sadly I don't think that's the case.
  13. I hope they don't do it. If we get Price, that means we are probably going to go over the luxury tax. If we do that, I'd much rather get Garza (or Tanaka) for a few million more a year and save our young players given that we'd have to give up a ton to get him. If they plan on trading salary to the Rays (i.e. Kendrick) so they don't go over the tax, then just trade him to someone for a #4/#5 type pitcher and clear some salary room after you sign someone like Garza.
  14. He's probably implying that the Yankees make a ridiculous offer for Tanaka.
  15. He probably just wanted to start something since he's on the Angels now
  16. Unless Arte has the money to consistently go over the luxury tax we should only get 1 of Tanaka/Garza. Trout will be getting huge raises and we already have two fairly high paid starting pitchers locked up for the next few years.
  17. Like the fact that they've done it for 10 years in their career? I'm not saying MVP seasons out of some of the players but a good improvement is likely.
  18. Garza will probably be overpaid, but at this point that might be a good route to go so that we don't lose a draft pick. Then trade Howie for a #4 and maybe clear some payroll. 1. Weaver 2. Wilson 3. Garza 4. Howie trade 5. Richards Plenty of cheap veterans to sign for depth
  19. Good point, if luxury tax is an issue just deal Iannetta to clear payroll.
  20. That's a little over the top IMO. I'm fine with Kohn, Jepsen, Salas, etc. fighting for a spot (or two if they get one really solid closer type).
  21. I doubt they move him because they aren't a small market team and they aren't rebuilding, but it would be an interesting target. It would probably end up being about the same money for two years of each, but depending on arbitration Zimmerman might get more. I assume the Angels would have to throw in at least a good prospect, too. 4 of the Nats top 10 prospects are RHP and another 2 are LHP, so they have good prospects coming up but they don't have a full rotation set for next year, even with him.
