  1. Currently he doesn't. Once the dead weight is off the books, a trigger could be pulled before Trout's prime years are over to get someone to protect him in the order.
  2. I disagree... I think he has a few multiple .300 seasons in store. Maybe even a batting title.
  3. This writer is assuming Trout has peaked. I beg to differ. Every year to this point, Trout has improved an area of his game. I don't see how the next 5 seasons would be any different. Is 2016 a dump of a season... it's appearing that way on paper. Are the next 5 years of Trout's career looking the same as 2016? Absolutely not.
  4. Gibson made some ridiculous saves. Gibby and Quick combine for the shutout, Perry scores the game winning goal, yet NBC doesn't interview a single one of them. Their biased reporting is beyond obvious. I understand Scott deserving the limelight, but these socal hockey players deserved a post-game interview. I hate NBC's coverage of hockey.
  5. That course used to always be in terrible condition. Not sure if it still is or not. I haven't played there in about 5-7 years
  6. Whispers that Horcoff is getting a lengthy suspension for an off-ice issue.
  7. Has Eppler done any radio or tv interviews since taking the position?
  8. This organization doesn't value the draft at all it appears. Spend the pick.
  9. A guy in my league was on cruise control all season starting guys on bye weeks and players listed as out on gameday, still won the championship. Lucky bastard. I hate fantasy football sometimes.
  10. Mora had injuries to deal with this year. But the fact still remains that UCLA still can't beat teams that punch them in the mouth. The team plays soft. And the penalties. Good Lord. In the past two years UCLA must lead the PAC12 in penalties. That's a coaching issue.
  11. Bengie was so good defensively, he could afford to not be above average with the bat. Especially when the lineup around him was above average for the most part. Iannetta was not good defensively and the only thing he could do offensively is take a walk. by the way, pro-baseball reference lists Molina at 190lbs. He hasn't weighed that much since he was 14.
  12. Lucroy could bridge the gap needed to get Perez ready. The catching position has been a disaster since Bengie left
  13. I've been binge watching Entourage. Halfway through season 7. Turtle had it good. Sloane and Amanda are nice to look at as well.
  14. This team has proven year after year that home ice means nothing to them. They'd probably play better in a game 7 on the road.
  15. I'd rather get Denard Span on a 2 or 3 year deal. If you put Span and Escobar in front of Trout, Pujols and Calhoun, runs are going to come in bunches. Span Escobar Trout Pujols Calhoun Cron Giavotella Perez Simmons I would also look into bargain shopping for a SP in January and then trading Santiago for a 2B/3B upgrade if available
  16. Well, at least it means Gibby stays with the big club. Now it's him and Freddie to battle it out for #1
  17. I'd still prefer Span. Cheaper option, true leadoff hitter. Span Escobar Trout Trout would drive in 120 easily
  18. Wasn't Gott's success mainly due to low leverage situations?
  19. Do you honestly think the Angels aren't active if they aren't mentioned in all of these rumors?
  20. I wouldn't care how much he spent if there was an unlimited cap and no luxury taxes that would limit an owner from throwing money around like it's growing on trees. However, that is not the case, and it has prevented us from getting other high priced FAs due to getting burned on contracts like Vernon Wells, Josh Hamilton, etc.
  21. If Heyward signs here, there would be approximately $60-$65MM AAV tied up to 2 players. Sure, they would be really good players, but that's a ton of money committed to two guys, neither of which is a pitcher.
  22. I can't see spending 20M aav for a player that is not even a 20/20 type hitter. If Heyward had an OBP of .400+ I could maybe see the justification but he isn't. I get that he's not hit his prime yet, but his power numbers are not exactly trending upward. As for his SB's, you know Sosh won't have him run. And if he does, Trout will break Bonds' record for BB's with the open base. If 3B and 2B were solidified with solid MLB players, I'd say screw it, it's not my money. But, the Angels have more deficiencies in the lineup than just LF.
  23. 20M/year for a guy that has one 20/20 season? If Heyward had more pop, I could justify that kind of deal. But he doesn't. And he isn't showing any signs of growing into it either. Half the years and half the dollars to Gordon makes much more sense to me. Personally, I'd rather look at Denard Span for LF so we can have a true leadoff hitter, but that is just me.
