  1. It wasn't a leadership issue, just like it wasn't a coaching issue. It was an execution issue and many factors contributed to that including what GB said. For a majority of Game 7 none of the lines were connecting on more than 1 pass. Also, losing so many faceoffs in those last two games didn't help either.
  2. Disappointing for sure. Blackhawks are a dynasty. As soon as it was known that Kane was back for the playoffs, I knew the Ducks would need another team to take them out before meeting in the conference finals. I was hoping that would be the Wild. But they couldn't even win one game. I agree with letting Beauch go. He's done. Extending Kesler is a priority. $11M coming off the books between Souray, Beauch and Fleischmann. Let's see what kind of magic Murray can accomplish this off season. And despite all of the poor defensive play, I would give John Gibson every chance to become the #1 goaltender going into next season.
  3. I think I am more anxious than nervous. Can't tell. But I might throw up at some point.
  4. I kept waiting for a phantom penalty to be called in the 3rd on TB. Didn't happen. Did the refs not get paid enough by Bettman?
  5. Actually, it was a mild winter. Only 42 inches of snow. This was by far the mildest winter I have experienced here. I look forward to crippling snow storms next winter with average high temps in the negative teens.
  6. Wrong. This year is the first year he has strayed from this pattern. He made it to the WCF for the first time. With a very young D core and two very young goaltenders. If you ask me, the future is bright with Boudreau. It's set up for him. If he can't get it done this year or next, then I think you take a longer look at the situation. Some of you act as if this game should be easy for this team by wanting to beat the Blackhawks, who might as well be the late 90s Yankees, in less than 7 games. I think you're not giving credit to the Blackhawks. That is a ridiculous team. They aren't the Jets or Flames but you want this Ducks team to beat them as if they are.
  7. My point about the poor leadership though is, who do you bring in? There is no one available? Babcock would have been a good choice, but he's taken. Bylsma has ties to this organization, but he's no longer available. So to fire Boudreau just for the sake of firing and hiring an unproven coach who could have the same 'issue' as Boudreau would be the wrong move. Why pay two coaches to net the same result? I could be persuaded to your side of the argument if there was a proven coach available. But there is not. So it would be in the Ducks best interest to keep Boudreau after this season regardless of what happens Saturday.
  8. They weren't bad teams. They were in the playoffs. The Western Conference in hockey isn't the equivalent to the Eastern Conference in the NBA. Just because they aren't an elite team that you can brag to their fans about doesn't mean they aren't a good team. The Ducks have improved over last season whether you like it or not. If you want to focus on the fact that they "can't win game 7s" fine. I'll choose to wait until after next season before calling for the coach's head. Just out of curiosity, did you want Sosh fired the last 4-5 seasons 'just because?'
  9. Are you saying the Ducks have beaten bad teams in the playoffs so far?
  10. 1 year is not a waste. Tell you what, give me a name of a coach that the Ducks can hire and I'll discuss further. Otherwise, you can't fire someone 'just because'
  11. Getz and Perry just turned 30. They will still perform at an elite hockey level for at least 5 more years. That's a big enough window to give Boudreau 1 more year regardless of what happens Saturday night.
  12. Completely disagree. Boudreau has earned one more year just for making it to Game 7 of the WCF. This team is set to succeed over the next 5-10 years. We have one of the best GMs in the league. This team doesn't have a window closing on them. I expect the Ducks to continually get into the playoffs. If they have an early exit next year, then maybe you look at another coach. But Boudreau has this team in a different mindset this entire playoffs. And it has shown in the way they played. That was the first regulation loss this team has suffered in the playoffs. That's quite a feat. As for Andersen, I'd start him but the first softie he gives up, I'd look to Gibby.
  13. I did that for Game 4. I changed seats on the couch and we scored 3 goals in 37 seconds. So obviously I stayed there the rest of the game. But, in the end, it didn't matter. I used to pace back and forth or get behind the couch, as if it was going to keep me from running at my tv out of anger or frustration.
  14. Does anyone here do anything during the game to break a shutout? You know... kind of like an opposing pitcher throwing a no-hitter and saying the words no-hitter?
  15. The Ducks have only been to the Western Conference Finals 3 times in their history. I'd say any year they get that far is an awesome year. It's ok to have higher expectations, but to call this season a disappointment if they don't advance would be wrong in my opinion. And Cory. I am not down on going through the wave of emotions that come with a game like yesterday. Going full retard is still bad. But getting upset or pissed off or having doubt is to be expected. But to come in here and troll the team like VLL did after Beleskey rescues our hearts from the depth of despair is just being an a$$.
  16. This thread is more pathetic than entertaining. I get the rollercoaster ride. But the constant negativity from VLL is just pathetic. Do you actually call yourself a fan of the Ducks? Your game day posts are straight trolling. I don't know how you live with yourself. I'd be embarrassed to show my face in public to other Ducks fans. And I'd stay the F away from this thread if I were you. This team has won close games all season long. And they have come from behind all season long. What they have accomplished in the playoffs is no different than what they have accomplished in the regular season. This team is just different than teams of past seasons. I believe they win this series. And, like gotbeer said, if they don't, I will still hold my head up high because they went to the WCF and took the Hawks to 7. The Hawks were the faves going in once it was known that Kane was going to play. Expecting the Hawks to roll over after a 3-0 deficit in the first period is just plain ignorance. They aren't slouches and they aren't going to let a team walk all over them. Neither are the Ducks. This team hasn't lost a regulation playoff game this year. Do you realize how unique that is? Only one other team in NHL history has accomplished that. But judging by some people in this thread, you would think they were winless in regulation. I understand this sounds superfanish, but whatever. I believe in this team. If you don't believe, don't watch. Because, what the F is the point?
  17. Ummm... didn't Fowler and Vatanen do that last night?
  18. I wish I could but I'll have to settle for my apartment again here in MN. I would have thought Wild fans here would want the Ducks to beat the crap out of the Blackhawks but sports fans here are weird. They root for their neighbors even if they are rivals. I don't get it.
  19. I saw a stat late 3rd period that showed the Ducks had 26 blocked shots to the Blackhawks 9. That is a ridiculous stat if you think about it. Imagine if even half of those 26 shots get through. Surely one or 2 get by Andersen. He's doing a fine job. I still think he has a weak spot under his blocker that hasn't been exposed consistently yet in a series. But he's done a great job protecting the net. Beauch was the weakest D-man last night. His best days are behind him. Despres and Clayton played well last night.
