  1. I disagree. If there was a team out there with a dominant front court, that could defend the 3, they could beat these jump shooting teams.
  2. Jerry West said D'Angelo Russell was the best player in the draft. He also made the same claim when Kobe was drafted. I'll take Jerry's word.
  3. I don't believe a single word that comes out of Mason and Ireland. Those yahoo's don't know anything.
  4. If the Lakers somehow had an under the table agreement with LA, then I would draft Russell. But, that's a big risk to end up empty handed with just Russell and Randle. Also, I'm hearing Aldridge wants to play PF not C. He believes he's a better fit on a team with a Center. That would take the Lakers out of the running for Aldridge if they drafted Russell. Draft Okafor, sign Aldridge, trade Randle. Talk about smoke screens, that tweet about Randle being much improved and the Lakers liking him A LOT is a smoke screen if there ever was one.
  5. Isn't this more Kupchak's decision? Why do people keep saying it's Jim's decision? I guess Jim can override whatever Kupchak says, but why would he?
  6. T-Wolves are working on getting into the late first round by dealing Anthony Bennett. It appears they are going to make every effort to get hometown hero Tyus Jones. Makes me think they will pick Okafor #1. There is a better chance the T-Wolves keep Jones, Wiggins and Okafor after their rookie contracts with the increase in the salary cap leaving enough room for 3 max deals. That would be a formidable trio for years to come.
  7. He would be the perfect compliment to Towns. I'm not sure he compliments Okafor though. That would be a weak front court defensively.
  8. AO, if you are a one and done kid and you know that you are already looked at as a lottery pick, would you do anything to jeopardize that by taking chances and playing hard on both ends of the floor? Let's not kid ourselves. Yes, these kids want to win a championship because it's fun, but, at the same time, they don't want to blow out a knee or suffer any type of catastrophic injury hurting their chances of making millions. I soured on Okafor earlier. There are really no signs that he will be a complete bust. He's 19. His upside is too great to pass up. He's not Benoit Benjamin.
  9. Think about this... they are saying no one has come out with his offensive skills in the last 10 years. That includes Anthony Davis.
  10. Are you basing this on the championship game?
  11. Without Dekker and Kaminsky, the Badgers don't win it all either. What's your point?
  12. The problem with that idea is you can't rely on getting Gasol. What if you draft Russell and Gasol goes elsewhere and you end up without a big man? There is something to be said with the fact that it appears a big man is not necessary to win a championship, but it sure does give you an advantage over other teams if the rest of your team is solid defensively.
  13. I read somewhere that 95% of the rumors leading up to the NBA draft are false. It's just organizations trying to throw each other off.
  14. If this is true and the Lakers can somehow end up with Cousins and Winslow, I'd sign up for that.
  15. The price for Philly to trade up wouldn't be worth it to them. Especially if it meant settling for Okafor. Noel could be the shot blocker while Okafor was the low post threat on offense. The smart pick for the T-Wolves would be to take Towns. But they are dreaming up of a scenario where they can take Okafor, trade Rubio and move up later in the first round to take Tyus Jones. Okafor and Jones are best friends. Jones is a Twin Cities hometown hero. It would be just like this organization to try to attempt this only to have it blow up in their face.
  16. This Warriors team was fun to watch this season. They played a lot like 80s NBA teams. Pushing it up the floor, even on made baskets. Maybe teams will stop playing isolation basketball and start playing the game the way it was meant to be played.
  17. So far, Cleveland has been playing East Coast Basketball and it has been working. GSW hasn't seen that style in the playoffs before. If the refs are going to allow the Cavs to play that physical style, they need to adjust.
  18. Only Hall of Fame coaches last that long? Interesting...
  19. If Murray is convinced that Yawney can get it done, then so be it. At this point, whatever Murray wants, he gets. He has put this team together and has made tremendous moves to put this roster together without jeopardizing the future.
  20. Still need to replace Beleskey's scoring output. I don't see Etem or Sekac being a 20 goal scorer next season.
  21. Would Vatanen's extension exceed Stoner's salary though? Or could the Ducks offer him a 2-3 year deal at about $2.5-3.5M per? I'm not as familiar with hockey contracts as I am baseball contracts.
  22. 80% of this board has never heard of Daryl Sconiers. I actually had his Donruss baseball card at one time.
  23. Would we be better off extending Vatanen or does he have a higher trade value than say Stoner to get some pieces back in return? I just don't know what price he can be extended for if that's indeed the choice Murray makes.
  24. I'm not sure if an Assistant Captain has a leadership role in the locker room, of if one needs an A on their sweater to speak their mind in the locker room. But if it matters, I'd like to see Kesler wear the A in place of Beauch. Does a defenseman need to have an A or a C? Again, I'm not sure it even matters. But I think this team needs to be edgy in order to compensate for it's lack of supreme talent offensively against teams like the Blackhawks. Let's face it, Toews and Kane are just ridiculous. Those two will always be better than the twins talent-wise.
