  1. I'd rather pay less than half of a $200M contract for Alex Gordon than pay Heyward all of that money.
  2. Lackey is a ticking time bomb that will blow up any second. That contract has the potential to be similar to CJ's last 2 years of his deal. Good luck Cubbies.
  3. Good. I hope the Ducks can get something strong in return for Andersen.
  4. Why ride Andersen? The future is now. Gibson needs to start. Give Gibson 75% of the starts and Andersen 25%.
  5. Bruins may have done themselves a favor losing that game. I'd be ok with SUC keeping the interim coach instead of getting someone better.
  6. I'd like to see some different pairings in the 3 on 3 OT. Ducks need more speed out there. I'd like to see Cogs with Rakell or Hagelin with Kesler just to see what a speedy winger can do. Also, is Despres making any progress whatsoever? Is his career in jeopardy? Ducks have been awfully silent about his recovery, or lack thereof.
  7. Gibson should get 75% of the starts going forward. He's the future. Barring a complete collapse by him, Andersen should either be traded or backup and Dobby can be sent to pasture for all I care.
  8. Gibby not starting. If this team isn't going to make the turnaround and become a playoff team, Gibby needs to be in net getting experience. It's time.
  9. Teams that stand pat allow other teams to catch up to them. Standing pat just because it worked last year is dumb. Teams must always try to get better because the rest of the league is gunning for you.
  10. Watch the Lakers of all teams break the streak
  11. UCLA is just prolonging the inevitable. Why even bother if they can't beat Stanfraud?
  12. This is the worst excuse to not sign someone. Starting to? Last year, Julius Randle was starting to get hurt too much. Lakers should trade him. And I'd take Durant over Barnes any day of the week. Barnes is a solid player, but Durant is better. It likely won't cost them someone else besides Barnes with the salary cap increase.
  13. Their performance last night vs the Clips was nothing short of incredible. This team just knows how to win. Hard not to root for them. Terrific shooting, they run the floor and they can play defense and get stops when needed. Probably most entertaining team to watch in the NBA. Much better than watching the Cavs give LeBron the ball and clear out to one side of the court.
  14. Scott is basically auditioning for another job. He's treating this team as if they are borderline playoff ready as opposed to growing the team into what they can become in a couple of years. He's not going anywhere. The young fellas will have to develop in spite of him.
  15. I chose Gordon and cheaper pitching in the hopes that it allows the Angels to also sign Zobrist.
  16. We come in here and complain about how much they suck and how we are all for the tank. When they win, you don't want to condemn them for good play, yet, the win affects the long term goal of a top 3 pick. So we sit in silence.
  17. Lakers win, and this place is a ghost town. Sign of the times.
  18. Big men have a distinct advantage because they are around the rim and can get rebounds and putbacks to make their stats not look so terrible. If you compare him to other rookie guards in the league picked around him like Mudiay and Hezonja, Russell's numbers are equal or better.
  19. Because everyone develops at the same rate?
  20. Translation: We are only interested in David Price if the price is right
  21. I've seen Kobe be a facilitator in the past. He went through a stretch a few years ago where he tried to get double digit assists for about 6 or 7 games. Then went back to being Kobe. I'd like for old man Kobe to become more of a facilitator. I also wonder if some of us would feel this way about Kobe if we didn't watch Magic do it "the right way" when it came to knowing his role and making the most of it.
  22. Curious if Nate has begged for Sosh to take out an aging veteran not contributing to the lineup for the Angels. Shouldn't Scott just limit Kobe's minutes? Why bash Kobe? He's built one way and only knows how to play that way. If Scott was doing his job, he's limit Kobe's minutes so that Kobe can't 'shit on a game' like he apparently does.
  23. I'm not ready to give up on D'Angelo at this point. I remember how overwhelmed Kobe looked when he first played in the league. The kid is 19 years old. He's not going to be the next Kobe or even the next Russell Westbrook, but I don't think he will be a bust for this team. He and Randle will be a good inside/outside combo as well as a great screen/roll duo.
