  1. The only thing I know is that using a single measurement for determining anything is foolish. (Refer to the current trend of using advanced analytics.)
  2. Some teams who are in the race also did nothing despite having obvious needs.......There is more to this story than the simple narrative of "Eppler Should Have Done Something."
  3. Please post your resume with any pertinent documents for describing your evaluative process determining the competency of a general manager. Thank you.
  4. The one thing about Dipoto, there is no ambiguity about his plan. The biggest difference I see between the Mariners and Angels rebuild was with the major league talent the Mariners initially had to trade away for prospects. The Astros will be good for awhile as long as their aging pitching staff stays effective. The one thing they did at the deadline this year was get older, which doesn't always equate to long-term success.
  5. Both of you should review the records for the Astros between 2004-2014. This narrative is such bullshit about "Champions like the Astros do this and the Angels don't."
  6. I guess people should never believe their team has a chance at the beginning of the year? People should believe in the Angels improving every year....it's called being a hopeful fan. This is not a problem......these are the folks who have wonderful family memories associated with baseball, some connected to victories and some to defeats. If you have a problem with people consistently believing that the Angels are a good team and are hopeful at the beginning of each year, maybe you should consider not reading those threads or staying connected to the Angels. Its only entertainment, nothing more.
  7. I do not think anything will happen for the Angels before the deadline. Eppler seems much more conservative with making impactful trades than rolling the dice on free agents.
  8. The Angels need to continue buying prospects that can develop into more talented players by selling established major league players not in their long term plans.
  9. I just want to point out that Mike Trout is an Angel because Mike Trout wants to be an Angel. I'm not worried about how many World Series he plays in as long as he his happy to be playing for the Angels.
  10. Is this an appropriate time for a yacht fuel joke?
  11. Obviously you sense my advanced training in complicating simplicity.
  12. Can I earn a certificate of completion for learning about numbers and numerals? I need some pd....
  13. .....which explains why Arte lowered the beer prices.
  14. Many times players list teams they want to play for on their "No Trade List" as a way to earn more money when they "waive" their list.
  15. Signing three pitchers who did nothing to address current pitching problems helped set this magical mystery tour in motion.
  16. You are aware the Angels need pitchers.......trading pitchers for a different pitcher does not move the needle.
  17. If my memory still works, back in the day managers would opt for a starter who was scheduled for a bullpen session the next day. I have no idea who that would have been.
