I am amazed that fans can still diss Vernon.  Yes, he didn't perform here, but he stayed classy.  More than I can say for many fans.

We needed this start to beat the arrogance and lofty expectations out of Angel fans.  I no longer have any illusions about winning, the gloves are off and it will be a tough fight the rest of the way.  The fight will be with the other teams, within the team itself, and between the fans.  Ready to rumble?

I love the way Williams says something fallacious, people grab it as accurate and go on bashing the player and pitching coach based on the false information. Awesome messageboardness.

I think DiPoto should be held accountable as well.  He has really been terrible at reconstructing this bullpen.  He's passed it off as not being that big of an issue, but he could have went out and redirected a lot of money toward getting that issue fixed.  For me it's the worst nightmare a team can have, a bullpen with no stopping power.  Any progress made by an offense gets tossed away night after night because the pen can't hold a lead or keep a game close.  I still think the Blanton signing was a terrible blunder as well.  Those issues, for me, are squarely on DiPoto.

At this point it's rather irrelevant to me whether Mike Scioscia should get fired or not.  When players with these credentials play like this there is not a manager on this planet who will get them to win.  It's pretty easy to blame just about anyone in this organization for this start, including DiPoto, Scioscia, the coaches, and virtually all of the players.  I might even be inclined to blame Arte for meddling with the construction of the players on the team (even though he has every right to do so).  I could even blame the fans for constantly crying about certain players, and wanting changes to be made every fifteen minutes, eliminating any consistency or stability.

The organization will get to the firing, trading, releasing stuff soon enough (probably real soon at this rate).  Until then I don't plan to let it eliminate my interest in baseball, or snuff out any hope that this team as currently constructed can find answers to their problems.
