As long as a new owner is in place when Ohtani reaches free agency, and as long as he commits to spending to building a winner, I think it’ll be fine.  We just need new ownership to take over within a year.

Understandable. Transition year while the team is in a sale process. 

The sword is rock hard.  

The hitting results say Reed won’t be back.
The pitching results say Wise will be back.

Loup and Tepera have killed us this season, hope somehow they’re not on the team next year.
What a disappointment they’ve been.

In 1957 the Northwestern football coaches were Ara Parsegian and Bo Shembechler.   The team went 0-9.
Both coaches left and went on to win Championships.  Northwestern......not so much.
At least the fans got that bad taste out of their mouths after the '57 season tho.

Did anyone check L.A. gas prices this morning, Oct. 3? $6.47 a gallon. And historically bad inflation, which will be getting worse. As will many things worldwide.
Going to games is a fun, enjoyable pastime. But it can eat up a chunk of shrinking disposable income for a percentage of fans. But if the team is fun to watch and competitive there is a pleasure quotient that provides emotional value. Which can be important in the overall balance of life. Same with other entertainment choices. And a team has to be appealing enough to those carefully budgeting their dollars. 
I think the Angels hot streak at the end of the season is important going into next year. Especially if they continue it the last three games. Ending with an unbeaten streak or close to one is as positive a spin as can be possible under the circumstances.  There is something called recency bias, which overrides opinions and thoughts formed  earlier. So the narrative going forward can be about an emerging young group surrounded by star veterans. Who potentially will be healthy and still in their prime. Buying tickets for next year requires emotional commitment, which justifies spending money if it's an option. 
 
 

I want Nevin to stay. I never thought I’d say that when he became interim manager, but I like the dude.

The 1-9 was really the only bad stretch post 20-48 ultimate dump.
That that away and they are 28-16 after the 20-48 dump.
Aside from the 20-48 dump, they are 53-38 on the season.
Point being even with it being a poor season record wise, they may not be as far away from WC contention in 2023 (health permitting) as was thought.
A solid nucleus is in place with the four main starters plus Rengifo, Trout, Ohtani, Ward, Rendon, Walsh, Soto, O’Hoppe, Herget, Quijada, Tepera, and Wantz (again health permitting).
Plus a few of the upper minors guys may be ready at some point in 2023.
Just need to address 1 OF spot, 2 rotation spots, and 1-2 late innings bullpen spots.

Going 6-3 in 9 straight .vs three playoff teams (Jays, Yanks, Astros), wasn't so bad either.  They had that putrid run in August where they went 1-9 and that awful series in Cleveland (at least that series was competitive), but they did show signs of change down the stretch.
Shitty season, nobody questions that and the offseason may be a shit show given the uncertainty regarding ownership.  So, beating up on some other baddies is all we got til ST starts.

I may be wrong (someone fact check this) but I could have swore that someone in Trout's family (maybe his sister?) tweeted out something joyous after the firing of Joe Maddon, or something along the lines of being happy with a fresh start under a new manager. 

Many on AW do not like Phil Nevin. I think he is doing a great job and I'm tired of so many changes at manager. Mike Trout saying that is showing his support for bolds well for Phil. Change of ownership coming and I think Phil stays next year. Angel's finishing season strong Nevi deserves some credit.

Why is it too soon?  What are you waiting for?  
Newsflash....Moses is not coming down from the mountain with the Nevins name on the Tablets....Nor will you see white smoke from the Vatican.

Have any of you looked at the economy post covid?  Most fans are not the elite, but pick and choose carefully how they spend their money. Maybe cut back the number of games they attend. Especially with a team out of contention for months. They did really well considering all factors to average 30,000. And the economy will be worse next year. Despite what the billionaires interested  in buying the team are are doing in their bubble.
