That regardless of media narrative, it's innocent until proven and convicted of guilt. Not the other way around.

Be kind to mmc. He's coming to terms with the fact that the Boomers sold out their future and want to take everyone with them via WW3, Gen X is too lazy to do anything about it, and Millenials are focused on figuring out who is problematic and needs cancelling. No wonder Zennials don't know what gender they are.

Part of being an Angels fan is continually counting on "the next generation" to step up and be a young core to build around. 
I'm not saying Neto, Schanuel, O'Hoppe, etc.. aren't the real deal. I think they are. But it takes SO MUCH MORE than that. You need volume AND upside of you're going to build around a young core. 
Many of us remember Salmon, Anderson, Edmomds, Glaus and Erstad. But not as many remember just how many didn't pan out in that same period of time. And that was the most fortunate period of Angels development. 
That 2009 draft class was incredible, but was also sandwiches between the disappointments of Wood/Kotch/MacPherson and the subsequent selections that included Kaleb Cowart, Taylor Lindsay and Chevy Clarke. 
The Angels minor league system lacks depth and upside. And the weapons that it does have, aren't kicking the major league door down. That's why I support a rebuild.

In a vacuum, you're right.  But the better option is neither.  This team can't spend its way out of the quicksand that it's in with yet another huge LT FA deal.  Smart, short-term deals -- sure.  Meanwhile building their farm system via the draft, international market...and more importantly, spending on scouting & developmental staff up & down the organization.
But, unfortunately, I think we know which path the organization (Arte) will take here.

I can appreciate your faith in our organization's abilities.  I wish I had the same faith, but two decades of incredibly questionable decision-making has me quite down.  And yes, I believe it starts with Arte, but that has been regurgitated to death.

This sucks.

Shades of the Bobby Jenks saga. They were likely trying to have him slip though waivers to try to keep an extra guy in the system.  Its a pretty common thing this time of year

Rodriguez has a big arm.  There are plenty of pieces of dead wood on our roster that I would've gotten rid of before him. 

Not my point.  My point is that there are players currently on the roster, like Rosenberg and Fletcher, that we could've used to clear roster space.

Are they looking for people who will sacrifice their comp to make a name for themselves?  Is that enough to get someone qualified?
Isnt the prevention of $180+ mil of payroll worth like 200k or something?
