And Fulmer has shown a willingness to take the ball even with limited rest.

I would keep Fulmer over Suarez. Suarez has shown himself to have no value. He has no roster flexability for the team or any other team at this point. Fulmer provides roster flexibility and has pitched much better. Should be an easy call.

We don't actually know if that is a "strength" yet, though. Have Detmers, Neto, and Schanuel (as well as Silseth and Mederos) gotten to the majors quickly? Absolutely. Do we know yet how strong any of them will be overall? Not really. Detmers is close to truly establishing himself, but I think the jury is still out on the others. Of course, that's natural, since they're all recent draftees. But I think it'll be another 2-3 years before we know for sure if the strategy is a good one.

I’m not. If they want to save some money for a HS pitcher later, as you suggested, then do it with the 2nd round and comp picks.
IMO, there’s a clear cut off in talent after 8-10. So lock in one of those top talents, then you can start playing around with your bonus pool.

Didn't the Astros start piss poor last season, too?
EDIT: Just looked it up. They weren't quite as bad as I remember. On April 17, 2023, they were 8-9. By the end of April they were above .500 and never looked back.

Looking reeeeallll similar to when Houston kept hitting the jackpot with their picks.
Elias hired away before 2019 season.

Starting to look like whoever Elias took with him from Houston to Baltimore might be having an effect.

No worries, we've got Sonny DiChiara.

If Neto and Schanuel both need more time at AAA, then this team is truly screwed this season--and potentially in the next couple. If you're drafting guys because you think they're ready for the majors ASAP and then they're really not, your whole strategy kinda falls apart.

I am just so happy to see Rendon hitting consistently lately. His bat being what it can be has been a major missing ingredient these last few seasons.

I was 9 1/2 . My memories of that game were that Ted Bowsfield pitched, and the Angels run came on a hr by Jimmy Piersall. Crowd was 4,000.

Shortest game in Angel's history, July 16, 1962. Was 1 hour 32 minutes. Angels lost 4-1 to the Senators. I was there.

greginpsca reacted to jsnpritchett in OC Register: Angels lose to Rays on sloppy night for Patrick Sandoval
Why is Sandoval getting called for a balk framed as part of what wasn't "entirely his fault" and part of "all that going against him?" It was clearly an egregious balk, which is 100% on him.

Sandoval Sucks. Too many pitches. Too many walks. No composure.
