Agree on rentals at this point.
But I am wide open to the right move at the deadline if it secures an impact player controllable past this year.
I would be glad to swap some of the more "ready" (but lower ceiling) prospects for one firm solution to a problem.

This again...people look at Moose's HR totals and think "wow" why didn't we sign him.
Despite hitting 36 HRs, he had a 1.9 WAR because he's slow, makes a lot of out, and was bad defensively last season...it's why it took until 03/06/2018 for him to sign...with his own team...on a one year with a mutual option.
This season?  Still slow, still making a lot of outs but defense has improved...good for him.
Yankees, since they are in the playoff race, have the luxury of looking at someone like Moose for their bench to take advantage of their short RF but he won't be getting starts over Andujar or Bird unless they play like garbage from here or are injured so he'd be a hell of an insurance plan for them going into the playoffs.
For us, Cozart was replacement level (0.1 WAR) so, if we signed Moose to that 3/$45 mil offer we were rumored to have given, we're 11 GB instead of 12 GB.

"This season is basically over, so most of my decisions will be determined by what will cause the most outrage over at AngelsWin. Hence, pinch hitting Valbuena. I trolled those AngelsWin folks pretty hard with that one."

Some guys are scuffling, but they'll keep grinding. Guys are starting to come around and are getting to where they need to be. There's a lot of baseball and it's still early. When we get closer to the heart of the season we'll see where we are at. Albert's bat is coming around, and as we all know he's capable of carrying the team. For now you just gotta tip your cap to the M's. We'll get around to playing Angels baseball and get to where we need to be.

    46. Jahmai Jones, 2B, LAA, Age: 20
Another ledge. If I compiled my rankings from an AVG standpoint, Jones would likely be outside my top 50. But I’m a sucker for the 12.3 BB% that’s pushed the 20-year-old’s slash to .241/.341/.392 this season. As a 60-speed prospect, Jones is certainly due for some positive regression in the AVG compartment. I also think the raw power is 55, which makes Jones a 55-hit, 55-raw power, 60-speed second baseman. The 20 year old shifted to second base at the start of the regular season, and I suspect that’s the primary reason he’s still in High-A. I’d assume a promotion is on its way sometime relatively soon. There might always be some volatility depending on your league format, but Jones’ ceiling is that of a 20 HR/20 SB second baseman. I rest my case. Interested in more? Jones was a featured prospect in the Ramblings last month.

Then why are you even reading a thread that bothers you then. Instead of being sarcastic and asinine, try reserving your comments for meaningful discussions. Others seems to care to respond in a meaningful way. That is the purpose of this forum; To discuss angels baseball.

2020worldseries reacted to Angel Oracle in This is a PATHETIC baseball team!
Being serious WC contenders next season depends on amongst other things how the starting pitchers emerge from their first significant action season in a while.   Can they stay healthy enough in 2019, while also having Canning and Suarez on the verge of being ready?    A deep enough rotation pitching just enough innings might have a positive domino effect on a hopefully somewhat retooled bullpen in 2019.
Incorporating a couple of young players like Rengifo/Fletcher and Thaiss in the 2019 lineup could possibly have an energetic affect on the rest of the lineup.
  24. Thank You
