  1. I think the only reason KC would move Whit is to get a couple good prospects AND unload some salary. I read somewhere a couple weeks back they are looking to cut payroll while they rebuild. KC would probably want a deal like Ian Kennedy and Whit for Marsh and Suarez? or something like that
  2. What about Jonathon Villar? I don't see the Orioles holding on to him since they are in full rebuild mode and he will be gone by the time they hope to be good again Doesn't have the obp Epplers looking for but plays well defensively all over the infield - and there's a chance to hit a grand slam and have another year like he did in 2016 - or he could stink like 2017 but might be worth the risk since I don't think he would cost much
  3. I hope we trade for Sonny and sign Eovaldi, then non tender Shoe. Keep JC he's cheap and can go to the bullpen as well as start
  4. 3.17 era, 9.9 k/9, 1.15 whip, 614 ops on the road in 2018 - just get him out of yankee stadium and he will be fine - probably a #2/3 starter
  5. IF Dbacks start selling this offseason... Trade for Archie Bradley. His projected salary is 2 million and only in his 1st arb year Since becoming a reliever his FIP is 3.15, 2.6 bb/9 and 9.6 k/9 - fits the mold of Eppler bullpen guys and is also dominant vs lefties. Can go multiple innings and close
  6. Josh Norris‏ @jnorris427 FollowFollow @jnorris427 More #Angels RHP Brett Hanewich just touched 99 in relief here at Scottsdale. 9:10 PM - 9 Oct 2018
  7. 1. Trade for Whit Merrifield. have him play 2B vs RHPs and RF vs LHPs 2. Trade for Hedges or bring back Machete 3. Trade for Justin Smoak or sign Matt Adams 4. Sign JA Happ 5. Sign David Robertson
  8. solution - trade for Whit Merrifield and have Whit play RF vs LHPs and have Fletcher play 2B vs LHPs. Against RHPs have Whit play 2nd and Calhoun play RF. Calhoun is at least average or above average vs RHPs
  9. Trevor Rosenthal is an under the radar guy. tommy john surgery august of 2017 and should be ready start of 2019. he will probably look for just a 1 year deal too
  10. facking taylor ward, Blash 2.0 with his leg kick and 160 BA, gets a gimme ground ball double play to end the inning 5-4 and blows it. I could have made that play with tyler whites slow ass running to first
  11. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/padres/2018/09/03/wil-myers-apologizes-fortnite-stream-comments-andy-green/1188565002/ not a practice guy, would rather play Fortnite PASS
  12. The Machado trade this year would probably be a starting point. For almost half a season Baltimore received a top 100 prospect in Yusniel Diaz, along with Dean Kramer a 45 pitcher (some might rate as a 50), Zach Pop a solid relief prospect, Bannon a borderline 3B prospect, and a throw in Valera Based on that a similar trade would probably be Marsh, Luis Pena, Jose Rojas, and Hanewich But it would be for an entire year so if I had to guess Marsh, Suarez, Ward, and Gatto
  13. Id like to see him get a lot of ABs next year but I don't think it will happen, or at least a very very short leash with him It all comes down to Eppler and its not his draft pick and they should be in win now mode next year I guess Fletcher isn't his draft pick either but you know what you get out of him, less risk for Eppler when he needs to start winning
  14. I don't see it with Ward tbh... Cozart 3B and Fletch 2B next year I guess
  15. I think its a fun thought but not doable. To be able to predict a closing opportunity in the 7th is tough You have to run through scenarios... So lets say its the top 7th and we are home do you warm him up with a 5 run lead? 3 run lead? 1 run? tied? what about if we are down by 2? down by 1? What happens if we are up by 2 in the 7th and he starts warming up but then they score 3 runs in the top of the 8th? Still pitch him in the top of the 9th? If you don't pitch him in the 9th after warming up in the 7th/8th with the lead... How many times would he warm up without pitching? If you still pitch him in the 9th after the lead has been given up since he's already warmed up you won't get the proper value Ohtani can bring to your club on the mound
  16. this could be interesting.... Taylor Blake Ward‏ @TaylorBlakeWard FollowFollow @TaylorBlakeWard More Billy Eppler says team would consult doctors prior to using Shohei Ohtani at a defensive position if he's able to hit next season #Angels
  17. Carl Crawford TJ surgery August 23rd 2012 Played April 1st 2013 I expect Ohtani to be able to hit all of 2019.......
  18. BAs "Hot Sheet" 8/13 8. Luis Rengifo, SS/2B, Angels Team: Triple-A Salt Lake (Pacific Coast) Age: 21 Why He’s Here: .455/.538/.682 (10-for-22, 6 R, 1 2B, 2 3B, r RBIs, 4 BB, 4 SO, 2-for-3 SB The Scoop: Grade out Rengifo’s tools and there isn’t anything that will jump out right away. But the sum of the parts, instincts and ability to control the strike zone as a middle infielder make for a prospect with a chance to be an everyday big leaguer. Despite being one of the youngest players in Triple-A, Rengifo hasn’t missed a step after his second promotion of the season, batting .315/.379/.468 through 27 games. (BB)
  19. + Middleton Meyer Ramirez and Jewell when they come back and some rookies who could have some impact in the near future Lillis-White, Rhoades, Stevens We could have a good bullpen next year and if Eppler trades for or signs a closer we could have one of the better pens...
  20. I can see Dipoto blocking any waiver trade for Johnson. They could use him and they would be the first team in the playoff race that can claim him given their record
