just finished a rewatch of moore's BSG. 
first time in 10 years, and i think it has aged well.

glad i don't eat dairy, bread, or eggs because i got back from the store an hour ago, and it was pretty much all gone.  

really hoping teams don't even bother with drilling the cheating fucks during spring training.  
save it for games that actually count. 
the only problem is the mlb front office is full of cowards, and they'll have no problem punishing pitchers who do it.  all because mlb didn't have the courage to deal out appropriate punishment on their own.  really gross.

i still think altuve was more worried about his jersey getting wrinkled than anything else.  i think his fastidiousness should be celebrated.

My dad passed away in 97 when I had just turned 21. It was during USMC boot camp. It was completely expected, so I asked my mom not to send out any notice or anything when it happened. We got mail every Sunday, and my mom was writing pretty much every day, so I got the news a couple of days after it happened. It was awful, but whatever. 
 
My dad was a Korean War vet. Retired Army Sgt Major, Green Beret with 2 purple hearts and a bunch of really high ranking awards. 
 
I still have great memories of him as a little guy, and he was always great with my sister and brother's kids, too. Super giving and loving with the kids.  He struggled in relationships with adults, though.  
 
Had a really hard time trying to be close to him as a teenager and beyond because he became a very aloof, distant man. Never went to any sports or music events I was a part of growing up.  I understand now that he had terrible PTSD, which was a "wimpy" thing back then, so he hid it with alcohol and isolation.  As a kid, I didn't really understand, but I do now.  
 
He tried his best, and worked hard to provide for us, which is what I will always love about him. Wish I could've known him as a fully mature adult.

that was really just a big wrinkle on altuve's jersey.  and he didn't want his teammates adding more wrinkles to his jersey by grabbing at it after his completely legit home run.

it was perfectly fine to me.  better than any of eps 1-3, and better than return of the jedi. 
i'm a star wars nerd, and just got done watching rebels a few weeks back, and actually enjoyed the final season of that, too.  i don't get what people want from star wars movies.  i think some people just write the movie they want in their heads, and then bitch endlessly when it's different from what they wrote.

it's been more than 3 years since i cut cable.  
comes to about $3000 i've been able to put to much better use.  i quit paying for coffee 4X/week right around the same time, so that's another $600 or so saved.  
the only reason i could see going back is if somehow the m's were ever able to contend....so probably around 2049.  so i'm looking at about $30,000 in savings during that time. 
but seriously.  give it a try. that's my advice to people on the fence about cord cutting.

if only everybody who lived in shall-issue states were firearms instructors.  i'd be fine with the entire country being shall-issue if everybody with a permit were professionally trained to use firearms, which quite literally means thousands of dollars of supervised training firing live rounds.   it's maybe 1 in 1000 right now.
