It has been reported that he prefers to bat lower in the lineup.  I dont know if the report is accurate or not however it has been reported.

Maldonado is catching, too.  I don't think he's very comfortable with Maldonado catching him.

Currently 4 games behind the Mariners and 5 more losses than them after 1/3 of a season. Absolutely pathetic.

Thank goodness I missed whatever Calhoun did to screw the team again. Better to watch the Cavs-Celtics game than this.

Ohtani is starting to take more walks now. His OBP is about 60 points higher than his BA. Much better.

He's awful. He doesn't know how to call games at all.  And his defense is overrated. 

Thank goodness for Ohtani. The Angels have an ace they can count on to stop the bleeding.

Not bad. He has faced some really good hitting teams. These numbers also would've been much better if not for that disastrous start in Boston when he was dealing with the blister issues.

Exactly. And his Steamer projection hasn't changed one bit since Opening Day, but he still makes misleading statements.

Ohtani has a higher K rate than both Severino and Syndergaard....

fangraphs steamer which is a constantly updating projection system had him at #6 in ERA among starters in the beginning of the year
however they've been updating and he's fallen around ten slots behind names like Mcullers/Morton, he's one spot ahead of Richards.
most people on this board can't stand Richards so if Ohtani is amazing then Richards is too.
Projections also are all future values so they predict future ERA.

nah I'm not talking about results, more stuff wise
his stuff doesn't remind me of Syndergaard or Severino except for his splitter which is a true A+ pitch

Ohtani has been less than advertised as a pitcher

I'm still struggling to figure out what Maldonado brings to this team. He can't hit. The pitching staff also does far worse when he catches compared to Rivera (1.2 runs per game difference).
