  1. Sweet. That means he would be padding to a 4-3 lead at that point if that happens in the 8th inning.
  2. Historically, he has pitched pretty well against the Angels. And his "best" start of the year came against the Angels. Though still wasn't great, 6 innings, and 4 ERs. Despite that being his "best" start, it was also his only Loss, which means he's been getting a lot of support in his starts it seems.
  3. Maybe the Home Run Derby will fix his swing? Let's reverse the Home Run Derby "jinx".
  4. No Huston Street or Santiago on the team? Seems weird to have Kelvin Herrera (another Royal and a 7th inning guy) over Huston Street.
  5. I've still just been playing a ton of Witcher 3. This game is pretty huge. I feel like I've played a lot of the game, but my next main story Quest has a "Suggested Level" of 15. I'm currently only at level 9 and I haven't been technically avoiding any side quests really. So looks like I'm going to have knock out a ton of those side quests before proceeding. Maybe play some Gwent as well.
  6. The Nightmare Decent talking heads documentary that also mixes in live-action recreations on the stories being told about the experience of sleep paralysis. As someone who luckily doesn't suffer from sleep paralysis, the documentary does a pretty effective job and conveying how potentially terrifying it must be to experience this. Gets a tad repetitive at times though, but overall very interesting to see a documentary be effectively creepy.

  8. http://filmjunk.com/2015/06/11/christopher-lee-1922-2015/#disqus_thread He was 93 years old, so it's not huge shock but it does suck. I'm a big fan a ton of the Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing Hammer films, and random non-Hammer movies like The Wicker Man, City of the Dead and The Man with the Golden Gun. Most famous recently now for The Lord of the Rings and the Star Wars prequels.
  9. Paths of Glory The Steel Helmet M*A*S*H Some foreign war related movies I like: Army of Shadows The Battle of Algiers
  10. Really? We're getting harped on not having a definitive back story of the villain? There's enough in the movie, in the atmosphere, the situation they are in, to just gather he's basically the leader/dictator of that Citadel and holds everyone in line with the control of the water supply. As well, has seemed to create this new religion of sorts for the "War Boys", and to the point where he is basically a god to them as well. Even the way that his other son orates the "I had a brother! He was perfect in every way!" as if it's something to be etched in their history. As far as the apparatus he uses, it's basically a breathing device used to keep him alive. Why? I'm pretty sure you could just gather that he, along with a lot of other people in the movie, suffers from an illness that stemmed from the fallout. I appreciate that the movie didn't really bother definitively explaining any of that. Even if it wasn't already there to draw your own conclusions from, which I feel it is, I feel it adds to an almost alien nature of everything that is going on.
  11. I really hope more and more people go see this. I think all the praise it has been getting is warranted. I could foresee some backlash as there always is with anything getting this much praise, but it would be nice to see this become a "new" franchise. The characters are all very rich and feel like they have a ton of history and backstory to them even without it explicit in the movie. George Miller already has some sequels planned for this, just hope this movie does well enough to greenlight them plus give him free reign to do whatever the hell he wants with them.
  12. I would recommend non-3D I saw it in 3D and while I didn't hurt the movie, I was pretty annoyed that I was forced to see it in 3D. Went early Saturday morning before my wife had to go to work and the internet advertised a 2D screening at 9:30 (which I was specifically looking for), I show up and it's actually the 3D screening instead, so strapped for time, I had to do it. The 3D isn't bad at all, but this isn't a movie I really want to be distracted with stuff jumping out at me. There's a ton of interesting action, visuals, and set design, going on in the screen for you to focus on without the 3D. I'm actually hoping to head a check it out again properly in regular format.
  13. Outside of being a solid Sci-Fi film with interesting ideas, I thought Oscar Isaac as Nathan was just a very solid, and pretty hilarious character for a rich, playboy genius. Caleb: "You tore up her picture!!" Nathan: "I'm gonna tear up this ****ing dancefloor dude" That line cracked me up.
  14. The Angels better come out swinging today. We could almost guarantee a lost tomorrow unfornatuely. We are facing Cy Norris tomorrow. Don't let that 9.00+ ERA fool you 4-0 in 6 career starts, with a 0.43 ERA. Ridiculous.
  15. Good calls. I'm not sure if this counts as a "twist" exactly, but I'd toss in the original The Vanishing up there.
  16. I've actually made it a goal this year to read quite a bit, or at least a huge increase over what I normally did. Set a goal of at least 30 books for the year (currently at 12 done), so it's been fun. Just been reading a lot of older crime novels like Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, Elmore Leonard, etc.. plus a few other random books in there. Though right now, I'm currently reading Silver Screen Fiend by Patton Oswalt. So far it's not amazing, but if you like Patton Oswalt and movies, it's at least passable.
  17. I missed the last couple of innings, what happened with Iannetta?
  18. Definitely seems like it for the guy I'm playing this week. His offense didn't look too impressive to me outside of the 2 hot Royals: Salvador Perez Kendrys Morales Luis Valbuena Xander Bogaerts Zack Cozart Matt Holliday Mark Trumbo Steven Souza Jr. David Ortiz But on Tuesday, his team went 21 for 39 (.529) with 17 runs scored and 14 RBIs, that day alone.
  19. Just saw this, nope. Never actually heard of that. Sam Sanchez is just my name...technically Samuel Sanchez, but yeah.
  20. I posted this rotation a while ago. Now, picture that I dropped Pineda and Niese, and replaced them with both Archie Bradley and Anthony Desclafani. Now look at my rotation: Adam Wainwright Masahiro Tanaka Hisashi Iwakuma Archie Bradley Anthony Desclafani Ian Kennedy and ask me how my rotation is doing. Gaahhh!
  21. Not really. Scooter Gennett is available but then I have no backup SS. The main reason Asdrubal is a consideration is because he would solve the issue of needing both a backup 2B and SS.
  22. So after a trade today and some pick-ups, my team looks a little different now: C - Jonathan Lucroy 1B - Victor Martinez 2B - Daniel Murphy (trade) SS - Starlin Castro (pick-up) 3B - Adrian Beltre (trade) OF - Michael Brantley OF - Jacoby Ellsbury OF - Lorenzo Cain UTIL - Jorge Soler Bench: SS/OF - Danny Santana 1B/OF - Steve Pearce 3B - Kris Bryant C - Wilson Ramos SP - Johnny Cueto (trade) SP - Adam Wainwright SP - Masahiro Tanaka SP - Hisashi Iwakuma SP - Michael Pineda SP - Jonathon Niese RP - Craig Kimbrel RP - Koji Uehara RP - Kelvin Herrera RP - Pedro Baez DL - Alex Cobb (will sub in for Jon Niese when activated) DL - Ian Kennedy I got my ass kicked in the first week since all my pitchers sucked for the most part, Jonathan Lucroy hasn't really shown up yet and Michael Brantley didn't even play. So I'm hoping my team going forward is a little better now. I'm considering dropping Danny Santana for Asdrubal Cabrera. I like Santana better, but need someone who could also play 2B though I'm still debating whether to do it or not.
  23. The MLB At Bat has been all over the place with this game. It first had Johnny G's single as a bases clearing double. And then it corrected but never updated Johnny G's spot on the bases to the point that after Matt Joyce's double, the score was 5-0 and had "Trout scores" and "Pujols scores" in there somewhere but I never saw a "Johnny Giavotella scores" until they corrected that as well as the score way later. And now it had "Jake Smolinki singles" for a while with him sitting at first base until it magically had him at 3rd base after fly out from Elvis Andrus. Then it got corrected into a double for Smolinski. Not sure if the game scoring in general has been confusing or is someone not on top of their game for the app.
  24. BOTH Trout & Goldy? Both were in the Top 5 picks in my league
