WeaverFever reacted to Stradling in Angels acquire Hunter Renfroe from the Brewers for Janson Junk, Elvis Peguero, and Adam Seminaris
All of the national guys think we are pitching thin. They have too much to pay attention to to look at the stats that say that opinion is wrong. We are bullpen thin, but not pitching thin.

It’s how he got Iglesias from the Reds….solid move….though not trading him at the deadline in 2021 was a mistake and giving him to Atlanta, rather than eating some salary to get a better prospect, seems like a bad deal…

WeaverFever got a reaction from Ace-Of-Diamonds in Gameday Thread: Mariners @ Angels (9/17/22 6pm): Ohtani on the mound, Stefanic at 2B again
The Angels are 32 games back and I’m still tuning in. A couple of bright spots still on this team. Luis, Shohei, and Trout are still enough for me to stay in this Saturday.

I can’t be the only one cautiously optimistic for next year.

Seriously...
I'm still in the "Trade Ohtani before he leaves camp"
But for the love of God... please lock Ohtani up... and please let us see Trout and Ohtani for a healthy year together

That is the most bizarre stat I have seen. How are we as bad as we are? Lmao.

Toronto's announcers are very good.

The six man rotation is the stupidest pitching idea since “closer by committee.”

I would really like to see a 5 man rotation next season and limit Ohtani's DH role to accommodate some field rest for Trout and Rendon and rest for Ohtani that rarely gets a day off now.

Following the Angels nosedive all the way the finish.
21 games under .500. 6 straight losses. (Team record is 14, set in June.)
Coming up, Jays, Yanks and Astros. That could reach 14 right there.

Dammit. Dinner will have to wait now.
Maybe In-N-Out later. I have a gift card.

WeaverFever reacted to Angel Dog and Beer in Moreno Family Exploring Sale of the Los Angeles Angels
I immediately liked Arte as soon as he bought the Angels not only because of the lowering of beer prices but because he reminded me of my Father-in-Law. I then ran into Arte at Spring Training some 15 years ago and thought he was super personable after we briefly talked about the upcoming season. My admiration has certainly diminished over the years and it seems like now is a good time for a change.
The team is in the dumps right now and needs new direction and an organizational overhaul. I sincerely wish Arte the best. He tried. He just got in the way too much, too.

Same...
I've met him a few times and he's always been very cool.
When he was a brand new owner he went way, way out of his way to hook me up once. I've always been loyal after that.
But I have no problem with this. It's time.
Just wish he could have gotten his ring.

I'll tune in when watching Angels baseball is my best option. I'll tune in because I like watching baseball. I look forward to the unpredictability of any given game.

WeaverFever got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Gameday Thread (8/21/22): Angels @ Tigers - Ohtani pitching
I don’t know where to post this but how on earth does marcell ozuna find the lineup two days after a DUI charge? No internal discipline for that seems ridiculous.

WeaverFever reacted to Angels 1961 in Gameday Thread (8/21/22): Angels @ Tigers - Ohtani pitching
Ohtani is doing things no other player attempts. Maybe it's time for a few days off. Been a very long season with little support in lineup around him. I'm sure he feels pressure to try and carry this team. This winter will be very interesting what halos do. Do they try and hope Trout and Rendon stay healthy? This team long way from contending and as season drags on, I wonder what Ohtani is thinking. Losing frustrates fans and I'm sure it's taken a toll on Ohtani. What kind of numbers could he put up with a good lineup around him?

I had high hopes for the season as we all did but could the Angels be cursed? Trout is having the worst hitting season of his career but his homerun hit rate is his best though. And that's still pretty damn good numbers for the league illustrating how elite Trout is. Ward may have regressed to the mean and it's a down year for Walsh. I've always thought Fletch was the second or third best hitter on the team for just getting on base so consistently AND when he was gone Rengifo (Fletcher 2.0) took on that role and have been the spark lately. And now it's an awesome sight to have both of them in the lineup and being the spark. Hope Trout and Ohtani maintain their usual self and the whole team finishes strong for some end-of-season morale.
It's a collective effort and as long as everyone tries their best there's really no faulting anyone when providing run support for any one starting pitcher on the mound. It's just the umps that gets to me.
