Getting any premium free agent requires an overpay. Only one team can sign a guy. And usually that’s the team that will pay what no one else will. By definition, that’s an overpay. 
 
But it’s how the system works. 

Yeah, agreed. I just can see the White Sox being the type of team that will massively overpay to at least give the illusion that they're making a run for it. The "Moncada Era." So while 5/110 seems like the upper end of reasonable, I wouldn't be surprised if they do something ridiculous and go even higher. My guess is that Eppler will max out at 5/110 or lower.

He has the potential to be a 5 WAR player. He was basically a 4 WAR player last year. Yeah and Fletcher should be a non starter just like Adell is. He’s literally the guy I want up at the plate with the game on the line. Even over Trout. The dude is clutch and is the type of guy you want in the playoffs.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say if you guys actually think that another team would be willing to take on Cozart's contract, you are batshit crazy.

I actually think it's an interesting topic that brings up a point that having Adams may make Marsh expendable.
I know no one wants to trade him. I don't want to trade him. But he has a ton of value right now, whereas Adams doesn't. Now both could significantly increase their value over the course of the 2020 season, but I think it's safe to say a package centered around Marsh RIGHT NOW, could get us just about any pitcher we want. Adams could be a dud. Or he could be better than Adell. We don't know yet. But we have Upton as "insurance" as he's under control for three more seasons. By then, Adams could be the number 1 prospect in baseball, or he could have flamed out in AA, or Deveaux took huge steps forward and became our top OF prospect. There's a lot of time.
I'm playing devil's advocate here, mostly. I do not want to trade Marsh. But if it comes to it, I could see it happening. Unfortunately if we somehow miss out on Cole and Wheeler, it could be our only option.

A-Rod had already announced that he would be retiring after his 2017 season. The Yankees expedited the process and forced him to retire early. They amicably agreed that he would get an advisory position with the team.

Listen to us ... we’re worried about who going to make more 💰 😂😂😂  They both will be making stupid money ... more money than they could ever spend in their lifetime.  Most people are living paycheck to paycheck.

I don’t follow the prospects that closely. If I had to choose I would trade Marsh. Jordyn Adams reminds me of Trout in terms of athletic ability. Adams, Trout, and Adell in 2021 sounds dreamy 😂  

I don't think it will. If he has to pay Cole $40 million a year I think he will.

As said already Adams value isn’t anywhere near what it will be but our outfield should also be set for the next 3 years with Upton/Trout/Adell. 
 
Once Upton’s deal is up hopefully Adams is ready. 

Adams, because his game is predicated a bit more on speed and I prefer Marsh's existing defense and plate discipline.

The OP didn't say trading one RIGHT NOW.  It said trade one. I'll trade one, just in 18-24 months.
The simple reason is that right now, Marsh and Adams are guys you package together with other perspective to acquire good, yet expensive players.
In two years, Marsh will be one of those good players himself and will he cheap, meaning he could be used to acquire an insane amount of prospect capital. And Adams will be an elite prospect, at which point you could probably flip him for a good player one for one.
I'd a say trade Adams, but don't do it for two years.

That only works if no one cares. Zero chance that happens. Luhnow and Hinch best case is a suspension for both. Could easily see both gone for life. Especially Luhnow based on the Goldstein email.
