It was open for 12 years.  Just like Michael always said, some things are just less appealing after 12 years.

I am very happy to appear to be 100% wrong about Ward.

Glad Ward rescued his career and looks like he has carved out a job.
But I think saying Dipoto was right about him is a stretch.
It is going to be quite a long shot for Ward to ever deliver the amount of major league value that they expected when they drafted him.

I suspect the kind of player that you would classify as a plan is now not going to be available until the trading deadline. 
 
Also, I would say their “plan” was to have enough options that they didn’t need to place too much “hope” in any one of them. 

I wish it was more openly acknowledged that just because a guy gets an 8 year or 10 year deal doesn’t mean the team literally believes the player will be performing at a great level for the duration of the contract.
 

This is a fair point. 
 
I don’t think the Angels expect Mike Trout to be worth $36M a year when he’s 38. Essentially it’s like a 7-year contract deferred over 10, or something like that.

Most everyone else has gone the way of either using Twitter/Facebook to interact with fans about Angels baseball or they have a podcast and they use Twitter/Facebook and other social media platforms to evangelize their podcasts and content.
There's something to be said about being independent. I'm so glad I didn't sell my soul to the devil back in the day when Fox Sports, Scout, ESPN, Fansided and others asked us to move all of our members and content over to their platforms and write for them.

Yes Nike made the uniforms so they have a much more “legitimate” to mark their own actual product.
But unfortunately Nike has intentionally become very political to the point where their logo carries all kinds of messages that have nothing to do with simply marking their own product.

Gross

I don’t hate the Astros nearly as much as I hate the lack of winning by the Angels.
I can’t really bother wasting time hating the Astros when the Angels haven’t really even been close.
