Always a good sign when you're picking up a guy who's being released by one of the 3 teams in baseball with a worse record than you.

As of today, June 24, with their 31-42 (.425) record. That would be the most losses since 1980, and the first 90+ loss season since 1999.
    Good times.

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the Angels "are listening" on Yunel Escobar and the Giants are "among the teams that have expressed interest."
It could indicate that the Giants aren't expecting Matt Duffy (Achilles) back anytime soon. It's no surprise that the Angels are willing to move Escobar, as they're already 16 games out of first place and don't seem likely to close that gap. Escobar is making $7 million this season and the Halos have a $7 million option on him for 2017. Related: Giants   Source: Jerry Crasnick on Twitter

I can't really fault him either. He has been consistent in his line-ups and use of platoon splits (and he doesn't play Cruz much in the outfield).
Tim Bogar is also his bench coach who has a pretty decent coaching resume.
Only thing I am mad about is using Nori Aoki even though he has been literally worthless, but we have nothing in the farm .... and Boog Powell just got an 80 game suspension for ROIDS. Servais has even started using Dae Ho Lee more against RHP since Lind has been struggling.
Starting rotation is a mess and woefully under performing now .... bullpen has been a mess since the beginning (Furbush, Scribner, Cook, been on the DL all season, Zych for a while).
Cishek is the best we could do for a closer (Benoit is older and had spent some time on the DL) and he's been ok ... sure he's blown saves but he has only allowed a .254 OBP.
Its the players faults. I don't know exact stats but the amount of failures I have seen with RISP is embarrassing. And the bullpen always coughs up runs when we fail to score the ONE we need.
Look at the stats of most of our bullpen ... (Edwin Diaz, Vidal Nuno, Steve Cishek, Joaquin Benoit, Mike Montgomery, Nick Vincent) ... none of their stats are really BAD ... but we just have failed.

Peralta is gone. Steve Johnson is gone. Guaipe is gone. Wilhelmsen mess is from the Rangers .... verdict still out.

I said " Mariner success is not driven only by Cano, Cruz and Seager ". I said they weren't the only reason for success.
A lot can change in time.
Shit. Chris Iannetta has the 2nd highest WAR for catchers in the AL.
It isn't Dipoto's fault we've been so abysmal in 1 run games recently.

Pujols now with a -.4 fWAR. Lowest war on the team.
It amazes me how Superfans continue to find new ways to defend the guy.

This is around the time of year his lower body blows out so no surprise that his hamstring/ankle are already causing him to sit out some games. He'll return eventually and play even worse in the 2nd half as he hobbles around on bum legs the rest of the way

You guys keep saying get it fixed. Am I missing something can you fix old age? deteriorating bones, muscles from years of using and then all of a sudden stop when you got paid huge. There is nothing to fix he's old donezo. I guess you could cut a limb or two off but I am not sure that will help him play at full strength. How did he even get hurt, he has barely played the field or ran. It is either a home run, double play, or strike out.

You act just as butthurt when Rangers fans come in here.
You won a World Series 14 years ago, that you may not have won if Dusty Baker wasn't retarded, since then you've really done nothing but choke in the playoffs. So yes you're right ... the Mariners are a shitty franchise, but don't act like you're the god damn Yankees or something.

Bill Stoneman had a successful body of work so he could do that. If Billy Eppler is letting his body of work speak for him there are not many kind things being said.
