I scratched my head when we acquired him, now I'm doing it again.

I threw a splitter in high school. It did one of two things: either you got on top of the pitch, it remained low, and the bottom dropped out, making it completely unhittable; or it stayed slightly elevated and didn't drop, making it a batting practice pitch. There really wasn't much in between. 
 
Shoemaker will have starts like this followed by starts in which he gets bombed. If he could keep the terrible starts to once every six or seven starts, he could out together a solid season.

I guess I can be categorized as team Dipoto but I'm really not. I just think it was bullshit he wasn't able to do his job here. Anyway that's not the point. I saw a couple posts saying the Mariners are thriving with all the moves he made.

Walker finally figured it out which has been huge and Cano is having a good season after last year's disaster. He traded for a couple ok starters in Karns and Miley and he stripped the bullpen which was great last year and has only been so-so this year. All his pickups have been blah or bad. Ianetta was off to a hot start but has cooled down. Many Mariner fans wanted Lind gone. Aoki has been ok. But no one has really done anything. 
 
Their schedule has been easy and the real threat is the Rangers. The Angels just need to hang around. I don't believe in the Mariners just yet

I thought Santiago had taken the next step forward in his development. A month ago, I was an advocate for possibly extending him. Now, he almost looks like a non tender candidate.

Seriously, so far this season we're beyond cursed. It's to the point where it's becoming quite comical. 

The trade that Billy Eppler made that eventually fell through because of a Baltimore Orioles prospect failing his physical. 
Michael Saunders: .308/.375/.560 with 9 HR and 17 RBI. Can you image that for our LF production this season? That's much better than Calhoun and everyone combined that has started in LF for us thus far.

He's owed 63mil and still has some bust potential.  He's also a poor OF defender.  I'd like to see more from him before committing that kind of salary and I don't think Az would be willing to do a salary dump.  You can park him at 3b, but I am not sure that's a long term position for him.  He's actually kinda like Cron if CJ could play the OF.  
I really think you are giving up on Cron way too quick here.  He's streaky as hell.  Here is what I do when Cron comes to bat.  I walk out of the room until the ab is over.  If he's on base or the score has change when I come back, I rewind it and watch him hit.  Kinda like when Santiago or CJ Wilson pitch.  
Here are few thing I would like to see before we start making moves:
- I want to see what happens when Wilson, Lincecum, and Skaggs join the club.  
- I want to see how the board reacts when Cron goes on another hot streak.  
- I want to see what Cowart can do.  
- I want to see Bandy catch Shoemaker a few more times.  
 
We've had the 4th best offense in baseball over the last 30 days.  We have the worst pitching staff in the AL (1.4 WAR total) for the whole season.  We may be able to piece together a starting staff but the pen is still a considerable weak spot in my opinion and they are going to continue to get a fair amount of innings.  
Long way to go and lots to see before the cards fall and we even know who we are.  

Pack it in and build for the future. I'd rather trade Santiago for prospects than for a no glove mid-20s platoon hitter.
 
We need to stop thinking this team can compete this year or next and try to build a contender for Trout's last 2-3 seasons under contract. They don't have enough depth to compete these next two years, as much as it sucks to say that it's true

Sure he has. You need to direct your anger toward the owner who tied Eppler's hands in the FA market.
Eppler got us Ortega, Soto, Escobar and Simmons who's been a stud defensively. 3 of those 4 got hurt, not his fault. 
Eppy also got us Chacin and Linecum when we need starting rotation help with Richards and Heaney went down. It's also not his fault that Wilson and Skaggs aren't back on the field yet. He also didn't injure Huston Street's oblique. 
Lastly, it's seriously not his fault that Pujols has been utter crap in the cleanup spot, Cron has been streaky (mostly poor) and the Angels have been shitty with RISP, leading the league in GIDP's. 

Yasmany Tomas, LF/3B Diamondbacks has the following slash line against lefties. .366/.447/.659
The Diamondbacks have a plethora of outfielders and 3B (Drury & Lamb), especially once Peralta and Polluck come back. Peter O'Brien is killing it in AAA and is strictly a LF, part-time C/1B. 
Tomas can play RF, LF, 3B and 1B. 
We may be able to get him for an arm as the Diamondbacks continue to slip in the standings. Scouts said his raw power could eventually produce 25-30 HR in the big leagues. He's on pace for 20+ this season.

Good to see Wilson able to go 4+ innings. Gotta believe if he has no set backs he will be back by mid June. That should give him 4-6 starts to build up some trade value.

Well, Rangers are almost there, although I doubt we score 11.

At this point, I wouldn't blame them for wanting to get the hell out of there.

There was a simple solution to the Hamilton fiasco.....Sign Torii Hunter for 2 years....Hindsight sure but it would have been the best move we could have made....
