  1. I liked the halo on the crown of the cap because it was a unique expression of the team name "Angels." I also heard that Gene Autry didn't like but allowed it because Bob Reynolds liked it. The tie in since has been to the Big A so the uniform will have a likeness to the most distinctive feature of the park. Since they aren't leaving for at least 12 years it's probably a good move. i miss not only the original halo cap but the uniform that went with it. The red lettering with the navy accessories were something I liked. BUT...our moment in time 15 years ago came in the current uniform so it probably doesn't change soon.
  2. Sounds like a Napoli 2.0. He winds up with another AL West team and makes the Angels pay.
  3. What I don't like are the overuse of the A: 1. Cap- ok 2. Jersey - ok 3. Right sleeve- overkill 4. Left sleeve - overkill 5. Right red sock when pulled up- overkill 6. Left red sock when pulled up- overkill
  4. I'm with you. My house was 6.8 miles from the Big A when I lived in California. I do know Scioscia lets the starting pitcher pick the jersey, and this bunch almost always pick red. I'm tired of red. Like you I want one white home and one gray road. i don't like alternate (or alterations of) uniforms of any kind whether it be Spring, regular season, all-star game, holidays, or World Series. The one exception is that I like the original uniform because that's what they wore when I became a fan. But you know this stuff is all about money. More things to wear, more things to buy.
  5. Have a championship caliber team in place for 2020. Quit recycling marginal players. Don't overpay for someone who has seen his better days. We have had three years of stagnation and I'm willing to wait awhile to get off this treadmill.
  6. How many fans would show up for an OJ bobblehead night?
  7. Could be the Angels are playing certain players in hopes of trading them. If they do well contenders will want them.
  8. To me this is a microcosm of the season. The Angels get a good performance from somebody and the team can't capitalize on it.
  9. I'm listening to the Red Sox broadcast and they said Sandoval's big drop-off has been defensively since leaving the Giants. Giving the fact he isn't a switch hitter they said they can field a better team without him. The Red Sox are eating about $51 million of his contract. Hamilton to me still is the biggest bust due to his attitude of arrogant entitlement. He thinks he's entitled to an occasional relapse + a self-report for impunity while the club suffers because he's a special needs kid. Note that he hasn't relapsed since leaving the Angels and failing to overcome injuries to play for the Rangers. I don't doubt that some people have severe addictions but I think Hamilton can protect his nest egg when he has to stay clean.
  10. I don't give up on them, just feel like we have to build a team less dependent on them. For me that means making moves that will help the team in a couple of years as opposed to helping the team this year.
  11. If the Angels can significantly upgrade themselves without giving up Trout or Simmons I'd do it rather than chase a second wild card. It looks like we might not be able to count on Skaggs and Richards. Let's see what kind of club we can put together for 2020.
  12. Here's a thought about where the Angels currently sit: Bob Nightengale @BNightengale If the Houston #Astros continue at this torrid pace, the 2nd place #Angels will have to go 67-7 to catch them in the AL West race.8:48 PM · Jul 4, 2017
  13. I'm fine with a rebuild or partial rebuild. I think this team is doing the best it can and the pitching available has overachieved (hard to say that after last night).
  14. 37 from the waist up. 44 from the waist to the thighs. 55 from the knees to the feet.
  15. This is what Heaney said and he had to have TJ surgery. However, Weaver had this problem a couple of times, missed a month each time, then came back just fine.
  16. I'm real excited by the response by the fans and writers for these selections.
