Boy what a grueling series, and having to face Houston and Cleveland. If the Dodgers don't put it all together I think Cleveland will win the World Series. I thought Francona outmanaged Maddon. I want the Angels to win anything they can but I really want them to beat the Mariners because the Eppler is better than Dipoto. What a difficult minefield of a pitching staff to navigate the rest of the way. I'm 62 and ill but I'll do whatever I can to help.

After seeing Eppler work you may be right. With Dipoto I was thinking of chain of command issues and the front office either putting the GM in charge or changing GMs.

Didn't like the umpiring at home and 2b. How about umpires in the replay booth who don't rotate with field umpires?

I'd like to know why Skaggs and Bedrosian can't pitch better. They have good stuff, than screw up. Langston in particular thinks Skaggs needs another out pitch and better control. Bedrock, after two outs,......

I voted for Vlad's signing but could have voted easily for Weaver's hometown discount re-signing with Bora$ the agent. I like the Justin Upton and Brandon Phillips signings because I didn't think they could be done. Hit me completely by surprise. Hope we can keep them past this year and that getting Melvin Upton Jr. (BJ Upton) isn't Justin's price for not opting out. My favorite trades turned sour very quickly when I was a kid: Alex Johnson and Tony Conigliaro. I thought they upgraded the organization hitting-wise tremendously and had no idea of the fiasco that followed could happen that set back the Angels as long as it did.

How they stay in contention surprises me. They seem to lose games they must win. It's hard to believe they could finish with only 11 more losses. But this is a team that plays hard and I'm 100% behind them.

I'd be hesitant to make a major trade until we see if Tropeano, Skaggs, Richards, and Heaney can come all the way back from their injuries. What can you do with Giancarlo Stanton without a good pitching staff? The Angels play hard and grind out some good wins, then they turn around and lose 2 out of 3.

The better umpires don't have many problems because they are competent and professional. Get more umps like them and the problem is solved.

Weaver had forearm tightness a couple of times early in the season and he was back in about a month. Sure hope that's the case here.

I was only able to listen to a couple of innings today and would have no problem with Mota doing some play-by-play. For years I have hated him as an analyst because of the excessive chit chat.

Welcome back to the Angels! His pitches have some pop and he's in control. I remember the game he got hurt with the nosebleed and forearm tightness. Looks like we've got the full recovery we were hoping for.
