  1. Angels need to find a way to keep Simmons around for a long time. Best SS we've had
  2. Wood could at least crush minor league pitching. That's why he got a shot at the major league level. Baldoquin is on track to never play an MLB game
  3. Revere is worthless. He has an OPS+ of 47 over his last 501 plate appearances. He has a -2.8 WAR over his last 146 games. Time to consider a DFA for him
  4. I'd say Mathis because of the insanely long leash he was given by this organization. We've had more worthless players (Wood, Ibanez, maybe even Espinosa at this point) but those guys were here a fraction of the time thoughts?
  5. You have Meyer, Heaney, Ramirez as starting pitchers that should definitely be around next year. Skaggs and Richards have reached the point where you no longer can count on them for anything with all their injuries. The rest of the rotation is replacement level right now with no upside (Chavez, Nolasco, etc.) - those guys need to go. You need one big arm and one serviceable arm this offseason. As much as I love Kole Calhoun, I'd look into trading him for a young #2-3 starter. Then I'd sign either Chatwood or Pineda if you miss out on Otani.
  6. This team needs Heaney to be more than a bullpen piece moving forward for it to be a win. They need him to be a #3 at worst next year. That's just the reality of how this team is composed right now and all the injuries to Skaggs and Richards
  7. They definitely need an ace. They definitely have the money to sign one this offseason. We have Hamilton coming off the books, along with Weaver and Wilson's money being gone (hasn't been replaced yet really) The question will come down to what it always comes down to with this team: Can they identify the right pitcher to make a run at and will that pitcher be able to stay healthy? Obviously right now we are all very cynical and will all say no to that but what is the other option. Getting 2 front line starters this offseason is a pipe dream. I can't envision Eppler wanting to do that when the offense has been this bad. He's probably going to bring in a bat this offseason to help Trout out. I will say that Heaney doesn't have nearly the injury history that Richards and Skaggs do and the success rate of TJ is very good, so getting him back next year could be huge.
  8. Giving Baldoquin whatever ridiculous contract he was given over Vladdy's kid or Moncada was certainly a big decision, and was definitely made by Dipoto. We could sit here and talk about how bad of an owner Arte is all day (he's horrible) but Dipoto set the franchise back like 4-5 years during his time here
  9. He's literally a carbon copy of Pujols when it comes to contract, and inevitable decline. The only difference is the Tigers got to enjoy his prime years at least
  10. Cole has had one very good season and a bunch of meh other than that. He's also from Newport Beach, so why give up assets when you'll probably have a decent shot at signing him via free agency?
  11. I keep wanting to agree with the libs and say Trump is totally out of control, but I can't bring myself to And it's because of their illogical overreactions to stuff like dropping out of whatever the hell this pact is If I didn't have to read all the whining from my liberal friends on Facebook every day I'd be a much bigger Trump hater. But the turtles!!
  12. Meyer has pitched very well for the most part
  13. Sell high on Blake Parker and Maybin. Thank them for their solid contributions but have an eye towards the future by getting back solid prospects for them. Hope Calhoun/Cron start hitting and explore the trade market for them. Keep giving JC Ramirez innings no matter what because of his upside Hopefully we land some good prospects in the draft this year This team will have money to spend with Hamilton off the books at seasons end. You hope Skaggs/Richards/Heaney can each give you something next year
  14. the hate for Pennington is a little strange. He's been one of our better hitters this year as sad as that sounds. I'd like to see Cowart get a shot but there are other players I'd get rid of first (Fontana, Espinosa, Marte
  15. The higher pick you get, the better chance you have of landing a good player. I'm not saying it's a guarantee but it might be the best option this team is not making the playoffs this year. It's really nobody's fault(except for Espinosa,Cron, Calhoun, and a few other underperforming hacks). Injuries have decimated us and we aren't the dodgers who can just pull up star talents from the minors every month. If you're going to miss the playoffs, you might as well get a very high draft pick out of it
  16. Angels baseball with the exception of Trout has been so miserable for much of the last 7 years Fuck, I feel defeated as a fan right now. Hate this
  17. Simmons deserves to be there as a reserve. He's on pace for 5+ WAR this year. That's an all star
