  1. That series showed why a team never trades a true star like Mike Trout in the prime of his career. Even if we think it would make the all around club better, it will never happen. He gives the fans/organization something to be proud of when we play a team like the Dodgers. The Dodgers can take all their position prospects and shove em up their ass because all of them combined aren't as valuable as Trout. It's fun to watch!
  2. Kendrick has been some serious trash for the Dodgers this year. Tropeano is pitching well for us. Arguably our best or 2nd best healthy starter
  3. The guys just quality. Not hitting for as much power but has a .386 OBP so far this year while playing solid defense. I'd keep him and Escobar in front of Trout the entire year. With the amount of busts we've had from our minor league system and the lack of position player talent coming through the system lately, it's been a breath of fresh air to see how consistently solid this guy is Plus he's a Sun Devil!
  4. If the Astros said we'll give you Correa, Springer, Kuechel, and our best 3 prospects, would you do it? I'm not sure I would but it's interesting to discuss
  5. He's got a legit argument for best pitcher in franchise history, and this team is going no where this year, so releasing him mid-season would be pointless. Let him finish the contract both parties agreed to then walk away. Hopefully he just admits he's done and retires an Angel. No way do you pay him to be on the team next year though. This is a business, and every nickel needs to go towards players who are going to help us win (especially when we've got 50 million dollars of dead weight tied up in Pujols/Hamilton next year too)
  6. Love the grit! One of the greatest pitchers in angels franchise history...could use a guy like that
  7. 4 years, 20 million Sorry, felt we needed another 4/20 joke in this thread
  8. So in your opinion the pitching is fine? Even if we were fully healthy, we still lack a legit ace and our bullpen other than Street is not very good either. I'm not arguing the offense isn't atrocious (it is). But the pitching is basically just as dysfunctional
  9. They have like 3 maybe 4 productive players on the entire team (including the bullpen). They need talent any position they can get it
  10. Winning cures all. Having the best player in baseball is awesome, but the stadium is still mostly empty every night these days since we're garbage. I'm not saying we should trade him btw I
  11. This is where I'm at basically. It's not that I don't care about the organization anymore, I'm just not interested in watching (other than flipping the game on for a Trout AB every now and then) and there's nothing to be invested in
  12. Lol this mess is all on Moreno and Scisocia, They're the narcissistic assholes that refuse to adapt to new ideas for the better of the organization
  13. Yeah they are, and Trout will likely keep us above both of them in the standings. But I still see us losing close to 100 games. It's not just the offense that's a disaster now. We literally don't have a single starting pitcher that can pitch more than 5 innings consistently
  14. They're going to lose 100 games and be in contention for the 1st overall pick. Santiago is our best pitcher (LOL) and the offense is just dreadful other than Trout and Calhoun. This is the year where everything is finally blowing up in Arte's face: Pujols is now one of the worst players in baseball, injuries, etc. Get ready for 10,000 fans in the stands in August/September this year. If we break 3 million again, that would be impressive
  15. I've believed this since Adenhart passed away (RIP). And I'm not a very superstitious person. Just too many things go wrong with this team though
  16. Those jokes are the only fun part of discussing Angels baseball right now though
  17. This season is not on Billy Eppler This season is not on Mike Scioscia. Having said that, I think it is time to turn the page on Scioscia and bring in someone new. Eppler deserves at least 2 more seasons to try to rebuild the farm system and big league club before anyone can really judge him Realistically, Arte Moreno is the biggest problem with the Angels by far
  18. Making $154,320.99 per game to absolutely suck this year
  19. Pujols' ego gets in the way of another Trout stolen base attempt. Jackass
  20. Why even try to improve the team? They're not making the playoffs with Santiago, Weaver, Shoemaker, Tropeano, as the core of the rotation, I don't care how hot Trout/Pujols(LOL)/Calhoun get. It's time to strap in for a bumpy ride and watch this team lose close to 100 games this year and then hope our GM makes some prudent signings/trades, and Heaney/Richards/Skaggs can come back and pitch well next season and beyond. Plus getting a top 3 pick in the draft and potentially a top prospect is something this team could use more than any other team in baseball
  21. Little league team getting embarrassed by big leaguers out there
  22. At a certain point Simmons has to hit better than .210 with no power to make his defense worth it.
  23. I would never in a million years trade him to the Dodgers. Angels fans would never hear the end of that and I couldn't stomach watching him in blue. I'd consider trading him to another team though if our future continues to look worse and worse. Obviously the return would have to be better than the best trade return this league has ever seen. And some of the talent coming back would have to be proven producers at the MLB level.
