TroutField got a reaction from Jeremiah in A’s release renderings of new Las Vegas domed stadium that resembles famous Sydney Opera House
Allegiant, T-Mobile, UNLV stadium, LV Motor Speedway, The Airport, and 1/2 of the strip is in Clark County. I think you’re making your own argument up out of thin air lol if she had that concern why didn’t it keep the raiders or The Aces/The Golden Knights from getting brand new stadiums in Clark county?

Expecting a “my leg was actually amputated but the team said it was a strain”

"I thought, this does not make sense, and so why is it happening?" Goodman said. "And then I thought, well, because they really want to stay in Oakland, they want to be on the water, they have that magnificent dream. Yet they can't get it done."
When the podcast hosts asked Goodman if it would be a "good thing" if the A's do complete their relocation to Las Vegas, she responded by saying: "I personally think they've gotta figure out a way to stay in Oakland and make their dream come true."
I mean, not sure how you can read those quotes and come to a different conclusion. But whatever lol

Ron is placating the malcontent or something like that.
Rendon must have pictures of Washington or something like that.

I agree with most of what you say. Aces wouldn’t work, they probably would stay with Athletics or need to rebrand the entire team which would probably be best, in my opinion.
Im also skeptical they could draw decent crowds for 81 games even if they were playing well. Las Vegas is pretty dead on the strip mid week if there aren’t conventions and things going on, and I think there a lot more thrilling things to do in Vegas than watch a baseball game unless it’s the playoffs, or you’re a huge baseball fan.

It’s an opinion, and reasonable people can disagree. I’m not here to make fun or insult anyone. I’m just laying out reasons why Aces wouldn’t be a good name if the A’s had to change it. As to the relative merits of the NBA v WNBA, the NBA no longer has fundamentals or defense. Double dribbling go uncalled, and it’s just an individual shooting contest now. I’ve been a Lakers fan since the Showtime days, and it’s not nearly as interesting now as it used to be as a game. Anyway, I’ll leave it at that since this is more about how the A’s released their renderings. I’ve laid out why I think that would likely not work either in other posts.

Would rather have it resemble Sydney Sweeney

Well, we already have the back-to-back WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces, who are owned by Mark Davis, and draw about 10K/game. He despises John Fisher. No way he dilutes that local name recognition. There are also the AAA Reno Aces. If OAK makes a deal where they keep the name and visual program, I don’t see Aces as the new name. Maybe something that references the old west history of the area. We used to have an AHL team called the Wranglers. All of that being said, I think there are still legitimate doubts as to the validity of this move. We shall see.

At age 27, Sandoval especially needs to embrace the new pitching philosophy of Wash, trust his stuff and throw strikes and trust the improving defense to make plays.
Cannot be having a WHIP of 1.51 anymore.

It may be the usual spring training optimism but I like the way Washington is reshaping team philosophy. More running and aggression on the base paths in particular. It changes the filter somewhat in evaluating players. And with his familiar assistant coaches used to his methods the teaching and mindset should be smoothly applied.
Pragmatically they lost a big chunk of their home run potential and need to find other ways to score. Not sure if all the right pieces are on the roster yet, but it's a process.
If the pitching holds out maybe the Angels will play more competitive exciting ball compared to the static slugging approach.
I"m not expecting miracles, but .500 and wild card contention aren't out of the question.

Can't explain it, but despite his entire Angels tenure basically embodying the disaster of the 2010s ..that picture does bring a fondness of some sort.
