There are hot girls on other broadcast teams who are more likable than Alex Curry. And there are some not so hot girls who do a MUCH better job and have a lot more knowledge of the game in general.
 
MLB has no cheerleaders/dancers/etc which puts it head and shoulders above the other pro leagues in terms of moral high ground. So, as a woman, i'll let the Alex Curries of the world exist without being too insulted.
I just think that on the hotness scale, she might not be up high enough to be as terrible as she is. I do think she has occasionally been better this season than last. Only half of her "questions" are "So you (insert big moment of game) How big was that?" as opposed to last year when she asked that question about 80% of the time.

When you hear the sports report it goes something like this:

Pujols hit a  home run and passed so-and-so on the all time list

I care; the Angels are playing like shit. At least Pujols & Trout look good. He's an all-time great and watching him locked in right now is about the only fun thing about watching Angel games.

I was listening to the radio when his second gaffe happened (I think it was the baserunning). Terry Smith (and to a certain extent, Langston) went off on his errors for, seriously, three or four minutes.
 
I had just turned on the radio, so i was trying to figure out what was going on... Smith just kept hammering the kid.  It occurred to me: Smith never criticizes Angels players, certainly not this length of time.  It was the dude's first couple innings of play.  Smith almost sounded like a bully to me.  If he wants to criticize players, fine.  But there are 25 players on the roster (and a manager).  I know damn well that Smith would never give that kind of treatment to the well paid veterans.
 
Seems kind of petty... pick on the rookie.

Baseball doesnt matter until it matters.  What I mean by this is, we can be .500 for the whole year and then have one hot month, and bam, were in the playoffs, which also dont matter.

Signing him.  Cutting bait when they knew it wasn't ever going to work shouldn't be confused with supidity so much as it's admission of their initial stupidity.
 
 
 
Does signing Weaver for less than market value count as stupid or sweet?  Where does trading for Skaggs and Santiago fall?  How about Conger for Trop and Perez?  Street and the subsequent extension?
 
Seems to me their biggest mistakes came from doing things fans wanted to see -- like spending big money or trading for "proven" HR hitters.
