FO decided to buy and the team really responded by just completely shitting all over themselves immediately after. This org really seems to enjoy validating all the constant jokes the national media and fans across mlb constantly throw at them

It’s like how Chapman in the Toronto saying to his manager why are you pitching to Ohtani, nobody else can hit?! And then we go ahead and roll over like a bunch of soft ass losers and do exactly what Chapman said we would.

i don't think i've ever known a team that for years with same/similar core players who consistently never answer a bell. it dumbfounds my mind how unbelievably soft this franchise has become.

I highly doubt it. And that’s not really doing something productive. 

It’s hard to feel bad for the players, if you guys don’t want to be disappointed then fucking perform when you’re needed. 
 
the biggest stretch of games in 9 years and the angels completely fold to the tune of losing 7 of 9 and now in the midst of 5 in a row, the pitching sucks, the offense looks even worse, and the in game decision are atrocious.

the answer about luck is in the original post. the angels reached .500 for the 14 time this season, and that number will rise as they ping pong around it for the rest of the year. they are as they have been for seven seasons, the definition of mediocrity. i just can't believe they've had a decade of bad luck.

best thing i ever did was divorce myself from truly caring about sports. i abandoned any real connection emotionally and now i watch or follow sports as a fan of the game. do i wish the angels were an organization i could really admire? sure, but they aren't. 
it's like disconnecting emotionally from a sibling you're not proud of. they're there still, but they're not empowered anymore. you may wish it were better, but it doesn't alter your moods.

If you are insinuating Barria is better than Giolito, then you should give up this trolling thing. 

Could have gotten some nice prospects for Moustakas,Renfroe,Drury,Moore,Estevez and Ohtani.  Was a real sellers market this year as there weren't a lot of people selling at the deadline.

This team bums me out. 
 

The club is too inured to make up for the talent gap right now. The reinforcements have been good but not enough. All year long the team has been plagued by fundamental mistakes and bad pitching. The number of 3+ run leads coughed up by this team is more than I've seen even in the bad years during the 90's. The number of times this team has been beat after scoring 6+ runs has been staggering to me. It used to be you score 5 runs in a game you think you would win most nights. A five run lead with two innings to go with this team and I'm still nervous. 
I'm going to take it is easy and see what happens after Mike rejoins the team. If they are 8 games out of the last wild card with 4 teams ahead of them, I'm not going to say throw in the towel, but if Mike and Shohei are hobbling a bit, I would shut them down some to protect them from major injury. Out of respect and professional courtesy. it would be the classy thing to do even if it looks like it would be waving the white flag. Also, Shohei earned the privilege to go in to his free agency without injury. 

Detmers isn't fooling anyone and his stuff is mediocre. 
The ninth yesterday leading to the first tonight are about as depressing a couple of back to back innings to the Mariners as it gets. 
The post deadline games have been as bad as any all season. So much for a boost in confidence.
