if you're pro aroldis signing, then you have to be pro bauer signing.

i don't think your tone is representative, but i think there's truth in the words. everybody has a backup that can take their place effectively right now, except for a select two.
-
also, i think perry wanted to give them a chance to win the title, since he puts such an emphasis on winning as a developmental skill.

there is absolutely no friggin way that the entire executive staff is not immediately replaced. what owner would pay 4+ billion for a losing franchise, then keep the previous owner's decision makers in place? everybody above perry minasian is immediately replaced. the only question is do they have their own gm on tap or do they give perry an evaluation period?

it's mind bottling. but carry on.

Angelswin.Com weekly NFL pick ‘em’ contest (WC round)
ukyah replied to Angel Oracle's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
nicely done, so far. -
for my part, i'm not criticizing adell for anything. i'm just voicing my somewhat informed outsider's perspective.

assuming you're including me in the first post. as i said, i've watched quite a bit from him to get a pretty good feeling on his attitude towards himself as a professional athlete. i don't think he isn't motivated to be on the team. i think he's unhappy with his place on the team. this kind of removing the team from social media move is actually rather a trend amongst athletes unhappy with their team in the last year or so. athletes are nothing if not blatant copy cats.

Jared Walsh interviewed by the MLB Network today!
ukyah replied to Chuck's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
oh for sure. it's unmistakeable. it's that big roundhouse finish where he's almost laying the bat down at the end. -
i've watched a fair amount of podcasts and other long form interviews with adell. i'm not going to get all caught up with adellgate (lol), but it seems he views himself as an established veteran and not a developing rookie more or less. he absolutely is fifth on the depth chart, and if i was nevin or minasian or any other mentor/employer, then i would absolutely tell him, "this is a meritocracy, jo. look at taylor ward and ask yourself where he was on the depth chart a couple years ago." the angels didn't do him any favors developmentally and that's on them, but he hasn't seemed to do himself many favors in that department either. i'm no more invested in jo adell, other than we'll see how it all shakes out and where he settles as a player. personally, i think a trade is on his horizon. for those wondering how he feels about the angels, i'd venture to guess he'd welcome it and i wouldn't expect him back in FA down the road.

just my opinion obviously, but knowing as many young people as i do, there is no f'in way he did not do that on purpose. that's a relationship status change as clear as day, to me. i'm 49. have never had social media and i can see that on even the foggiest of days. it's not a shock really, why should he be happy with that? he doesn't want to definitively start/stay in AAA this year, no matter how much he may need it.

chapman would be ok, but bauer wouldn't? no way that's possible.

i'm clearly missing some dimensions to this story ,and adam, and why you guys are so positive about it.

Angels sign Brett Phillips (1 year, $1.2 million), DFA Austin Warren

these are the kinds of guys that get you sneaky wins, man. talented, hardworking guys that keep it going in the dugout and in the clubhouse. they put up decent numbers when used situationally, and when you look back on the season you can point to specific moments in games where they literally won you a few games either with an unexpected clutch hit or a defensive gem to preserve a win. he's still in his prime years, so the skillset shouldn't be wearing thin yet. this is a solid get for the team's need and to see him working with taylor's guy sprinkles some sugar on top, for me. great move, perry. -

that's a weird list. -

i would not sign a player to that type of contract that i thought had major structural problems before i signed him. it's really no more complicated than that. he's also not really as good as you guys are making him out to be. look at his defense and look at his offensive production. it's really easily replaced. i'm a hard no.

mother theresa was an awful person. read all about her and stuff she said, it's horrible. her stated only interest was building the church's influence.

Angels sign Brandon Drury (2 years, $17 million), DFA Oliver Ortega

i'll be the one to spell it out for you. it's not an exaggeration, it's a familiar turn of phrase. "this never happens anymore" doesn't mean this never happens anymore to native english speakers. it means "this doesn't happen as much as it used to". fletcher is saying, hey a player need trade for a player need trade. you don't see these very often now a days. hopefully, we can move on from this now. -
i disagree completely, although i'd be interested to see his defensive metrics in CF only. i know the ball flies truer to the CF, but it's also significantly more difficult to get reads on the ball when it's not hit to the gap favoring LF or RF. my opinion is a CF needs above average instincts for reading the ball or they'll get blown off the play. adell is not that player, in my eyes. perhaps the stats will prove me wrong, assuming there is enough of a sample size.

just couldn't throw in that extra "ment", huh? got a busy schedule today?
