  1. i'd be surprised if xander signs with the red sox. they've objectively treated him pretty shitty by offering him one year deals and some other low value contracts. to a player that's pretty insulting, and it's hard to argue in this case. my opinion is that he's not even considering them and i don't think they're trying to resign him. if i'm wrong, then i'm wrong, but that's my sense of it.
  2. i'd be totally fine if the angels traded for kim as a starter. i really liked his game and enjoyed watching him play with the padres.
  3. calling hurt players pussies is so lame. there's just no explaining it to people who say such dumb shit about the best players in the world.
  4. ha! no sense of humor as evidenced by your recycled joke and your angry reaction to a better one. thanks for the holiday fun, nerd.
  5. adell needs a reality check. i hope he's getting one, but my inclination is that he's probably just souring on the Angels. i get that inclination from watching him speak about himself as a player in extended interviews, some of the podcast variety. i'd bet he'd be totally fine with being traded. although i don't know jack shit all about him or his thoughts really.
  6. try to pry oswald peraza loose from the yankees. they're going to trade 1 or 2 from their combination mlb infield and minor league infield prospects this offseason. this is the one i'd try to get, but i'm not sure what it would take. i do know that kinder-falafel is a wast of time. you might as well just go with squid then.
  7. i'm coining, "go, go, gio." right here and now. or when he sucks, gio wurshela.
  8. i'll put some action on the over of .250 and ten homers, if you or anybody wants to take your numbers. he has to beat both projections or i lose.
  9. i definitely agree with your last statement. somebody that is good enough to start at either position. i disagree about adell though. i don't think he's gifted a starting job next year. i think he's going to have to earn it and i won't be surprised at all to see him sent down or even potentially more likely traded if there are teams that like him still.
  10. he had to replace lorenzen just to maintain the status quo. it seems like he did what you wanted him to do, which is maintain the SP gains from last year.
  11. i agree. i was commenting on the prior comment regarding a 5 or 6 man rotation. the point being call it what you like, but you need at least 6 or 7 that will log serious SP innings and the rest will give you spot starts over the year.
  12. his offense is so bad his defense can't make up for it. he's a negative war player even with his defense mitigating that. his ops+ is 58, which means he's 42% worse of a hitter than an average major leaguer. that's just not even doable. ops+ accounts for the park, so you can't even think he'll be better in anaheim.
  13. it doesn't matter what they call the rotation. if you don't like your 6th, 7th, and 8th starters you're not going nowhere. every team averages 10 different starting pitchers per season for the last 11 years. angels need to get deeper... and better.
  14. i don't love the segura idea. i hate the andrus idea. honestly, i have no idea what position they are in due to the status of the sale. i have no expectations.
  15. i think it makes a huge difference that he got back to being the top 5 hitter thing at the end of the year. it's one thing to get really hot as a hitter. it happens all the time. we saw it with walsh, but for him to get totally derailed by injury, then to heal and get back to what he was doing? that's why i'm bullish
  16. he's not going to win mvp, but it will be interesting to see him finish top 5 in both mvp and cy young. 10 players have won the mvp and the cy young in the same year and 3 of them are dodgers. sorry for you dodger haters, i'm just reporting the facts.
