  1. The Jets are a team on the rise, sweeping them was an impressive achievement. Calgary, while not a highly skilled team is certainly a very resilient one, again putting them away in the fashion the Ducks did was impressive. Like a previous poster said, the western conference in the NHL is not the NBA"s eastern conference it is tough and highly competitive. Chicago is a very tough team, I think other then yesterdays game 6, the Ducks have shown up and played well in all of the games. The series would be over in our favor if we could have caught any kind of break in game 2 where we were the better team by a significant margin. I think the same argument can be made but to a lesser extent of the game 4 OT loss, again we were the better team in terms of possession and quality scoring chances. The metrics for the series overall suggest that we have earned victory in the series, hopefully that bears out.
  2. Its not a surprise we're going 7. Just gotta hope this team is made of the stuff that it'll take to put Chicago away, we mostly did not see that "stuff" tonight. We've shown for long stretches that we can contain the Blackhawks offense. This team needs to play an aggressive forchecking style in order to succeed. Hopefully they come out firing on all cylinders on Saturday night, it would a horribly brutal loss to swallow, especially a 3rd year in a row.
  3. It is a horrendous article. Angel fans should root for the Angels not Josh Hamilton. its one thing to feel bad for the guy, but thats unrelated to pulling for the Angels. Getting rid of Hamilton is absolutely whats best for the Angels. This woman's editorial is just about creating hostility towards the club. Way to balance the scales Ms. Smith. Your article is trash.
  4. no disrespect to Jeff Fletcher (you do fine work sir) but seriously. F**K the OC Register. I am personally completely unmoved by the plight of Josh Hamilton. Boo Hoo, he fleeced the club for 100 million dollars. This dude is not a victim. I am sorry for his personal demons, and truely I hope he gets his life together. its just that I think he's a shitty baseball player with a drug problem and Im sick of him being an Angel. I imagine the guy cutting his check (Arte Moreno) is a lot more sick of it. He's gonna eat the cost. Smug ass baseball pundits are gonna say he has egg on his face. F**K them too. Nobody could have anticipated how badly this has gone. I am THANKFUL that Arte puts up the money to make the Angels a force in MLB. I grew up during the Disney days. Im a Angel fan no matter what, but Ill keep the Angels that will sign a guy premier FA thanks. Arte has delivered that to the community. So again, F U OC register and your article and an extra FU to that Smith woman that wrote the other retarded "I hate Arte" article. Newsflash, its Arte that losing the money, these editorials are about creating hostility towards the Angels and Arte Moreno specifically. Whats the play OC Register ? Seriously.
  5. all i have to say is thank god it will soon be over (hopefully tomorrow) Its not my money, i dont give a shit. Im happy that the "Hambone" is going to be gone so I dont have to agonize over whether he'll be worth a damn or not. Arte is a billionaire and the Angels are more then self sufficient. Its a failed project, those things happen. The club will be fine, better off in fact. I have no doubt that the brass will **** up less next time. Now lets see if we can use the 15 million we're getting to get another bat. Preferably a 2b or another LF.
  6. ill be good if we finish the month near .500. Still entirely possible. As far as these hitters go though, i mean...we have a lot of guys that arent good. Giavotella (put me firmly in the not buying column) CJ Cron (still hoping but really no reason to be optimistic about him being anything other then a low avg/obp guy with the singular tool of power) Aybar (a fine player, but not by any means an impact bat) Freese (completely unreliable) . half the line up is poor. The other half is pretty decent. Its not what I would describe as balanced. It is what it is. Hopefully DiPoto can get us a real 2b earlier then later.
  7. they are red hot again. When your swinging the bats (even better then they did in the playoffs) and making big defensive plays you are going to win. **** them, its one series in the beginning of the season. They aren't near Boston or Oakland yet in my mind.
  8. im sure the Angels locker room is just fine. The little league thing is embarrassing imo. Then again, the Angels dont look great tonight either.
  9. the food is pretty bad in general. On the club level I use to think they served a pretty solid pasta. They got rid of it though.
  10. he was awesome tonight, definitely one of his best starts as an Angel. His issues have always seemed mental, so maybe he has righted the ship. Lets hope so.
  11. somehow i tricked myself into thinking Trout might strike out less this season.
  12. crap story thats for sure. If it was me, I don't see how u can leave 5 million on the table over basically pride. Still, the Astro's did him dirty. Its too bad this apparently validates their concerns about his "abnormal" elbow.
  13. I still feel like Conger never really got a real shot with us. Im fine with the trade, but I think theres at least a chance that Conger ends up being the best player of the 3 by a good margin. Tropeano does not impress me.
  14. its the game brah's. Other then massive cleavage i feel like they could have done more with her costume. More as in.. less.
  15. i dont get how this works. Are they not wildly over their international budget at this point ?
  16. If he's a consistent #4 or 5 for us in our rotation for some years its a success isn't it ? Maybe he will be as awesome as some of nicer reports say. Or maybe he'll be typical of prospects and a failure. If he sticks at all thats a win imo. From what ive seen (and im no scout) his stuff is not as good as Skaggs. He's not as good as Skaggs period in fact, based on what I have seen. Ive seen him in person in Arizona last week and ive seen him on TV. I'm yet to watch him and be super impressed. Still hoping for the best, but like I said, lets not be 2 bummed about a 4th or 5th starter that sticks. Would be pretty good actually.
  17. i expect that this season we will experience suffering at 2b.....and probably at 3b, but thats nothing new.
  18. his track record is out there. I personally do not believe a guy that far to right will ever win in this country again. The GOP has no chance unless it runs a moderate. Ted Cruz is not moderate. Just my two cents.
