My biggest grip with the pitching staff is all the HR's they are allowing. Is this something mechanical that can be fixed/adjusted or just a string of bad luck?

I still imagine Fletcher as an Eckstein type player at the MLB level. Those are always good to have: the determination, the doing the little things, making contact, hitting the ball to the gaps, playing solid enough defense.
Agreed and its always fun to watch the little scrappy guy that everyone always underestimates..ie Eckstein, Altuve (not so much anymore).

Some people on here are worried about Heaney and I know that they have stats that back that up, but when I see him pitch, I see a talented pitcher who can turn it around. Its not like he is getting lit up inning after inning its typically 1 really bad one. I think that will get worked out the more he pitches throughout the year. Love Ohtani, Richards and Trop. Cant really find too many teams with a better #4 or #5 starter than Heaney or Skaggs. Skaggs does worry me a bit though.

Mike Trout saying: WAIT A SECOND OHTANI! I CAN DOMINATE TOO!
Odds that Trout + Ohtani exceed a combined 13 WAR this year?
I’ll take the over

Really enjoyed this article....well done.

I think they retire it but Trout gets to wear it for the rest of his career as an Angel.

Good move. He killed it in AAA in the first half, and can still fly around the bases. Perfect for punch running and as a defensive replacement.
Add in the fact he can pinch run as well.....I like it. Ha!

What are your thoughts on a Tillman? Might be a good bounce back candidate, depth signing at a low cost.

Why not Hermosillo for the 4th OF role? He is league min can be optioned up and down. Might as well see what he's got. Less pressure on him as the 4th OF. We can us e the funds we would allocate for a 4th outfield to BP and SP.

I’m cautiously optimistic

I'll say it again, Jurickson Profar would solve a lot of depth issues we might run into.
1. Plays 2B, 3B and SS and is pretty good defensively.
2. Could platoon with Valbuena as he hit .387 against lefties last year in AAA.
3. Former top prospect that has some OF experience.
4, Rangers currently have a roster crunch on the infield, so they might lose him anyway.
5. Still has the kind of upside where he can grow into a starting role and be successful.
6. Is close friends with Andrelton Simmons and could flourish in a role that works in conjunction with SS like 2B.
If we offered even a decent pitching prospect like Jesus Castillo it would get the job done. Maybe a lesser one with reliever upside like Jake Jewell or a 4th OF like Brennon Lund.
Has played in the OF as well and Im sure he could learn and be decent in Center.

OK, maybe i exaggerated when i said easily.
Darvish being a bit of a risk right now so i dont think he gets a huge deal right now, with luck maybe only comparable to his previous at about 10-11 mil or slightly higher. If it doesn't fit he would be odd man out due to our depth at the position currently.
Morrison isnt going to suddenly become a 15 mil player, never made more than 4ish, so even if he gets lets say 6-8 per at most?
Noone is projecting Mous to be unreasonable. I see a lot of 4 yr deals suggesting no more than maybe 15 per
I think maybe all fit for about 30-35 in terms of AAV. 12-15 for Mous, lets say another 12 for Darvish at most, and maybe 6-8 for Morrison.
My math may be low, well have to see where they fall, but i dont think fitting them under 40 is that difficult. If they are much higher i would probably look elsewhereDarvish is getting 20 mil plus a year

Not sure how I feel about cozart. I think it’s great he could fill in at SS though.

What would the package look like in order to trade for Solarte?
