  1. You vastly overrate Scioscia's value. People around the league aren't completely oblivious to what he's done the last 4 years in Anaheim. Notice how even idiots like Heyman and Morosi aren't calling him "one of the best managers in baseball" anymore. He can probably get a 2 year 5.5 million dollar "prove it" type contract from someone. North of 5 million per season would be outrageous for Scioscia.
  2. And only 2 managers that won the WS after Sosh are still with their current team (Bochy and Girardi). Both of them won recently. Managers get stale. Change is needed or else people get complacent. That's why giving a manager a 10 year deal is such flawed logic
  3. Almost 12 years ago now. Seriously, people still bringing up 2002 as an arguing point to discuss Scioscia CURRENTLY is a joke. If it was 2006, that argument might have some merit still, not at the end of 2013 when we've missed the playoffs 4 straight years though. Sorry
  4. Yeah, it sucks. Arte will probably sign McCann or Cano this offseason, and we'll finish with the 12th overall draft pick. That's my biggest fear. I'm a bitter monkey this year. Hope next year we compete...
  5. Williams is really bad. Every ball is hit hard.
  6. Cowgill SUCKS. Why the hell is he hitting leadoff? Scioscia defies logic sometimes. He just loves putting replacement level players with no upside in the leadoff spot.
  7. I can't stand posters like yourself sorry. You're a contrarian.
  8. Just like everything on this board. You don't need to keep repeating it. We get it. It's opinion. Move on.
  9. Sosh won his championship almost 12 years ago now. Not sure if you can use that argument anymore. The fact is that Showalter has been more successful recently. There is no reason for the Orioles to even consider replacing him with Sosh.
  10. Bochy and Showalter are better managers than Sosh. The Orioles have been good the last two years. Not sure why they'd be interested in Sosh. The others are logical.
  11. I don't see it. In my mind, Romine>>>Field. Romine has an elite tool, Field doesn't. Romine is also faster. Field might hit a little more, but overall I think Romine is a better utility player.
  12. Victorino, Dempster, Napoli, Gomes, Uehara, Drew, David Ross, traded for Peavy, and they also extended Pedroia long term. Their front office is outstanding.
  13. Calhoun and Trout are the only reasons to watch this team.
  14. Like I've said many times this season, Arte is ruining this franchise one idiotic move/non-move at a time. I now think Dipoto deserves little blame for this. It's all on Arte.
  15. They need to overhaul the bullpen this offseason. There are some intriguing options out there like Tdawg mentioned. Start with Frieri and Burnett in middle relief, and Kohn, DDLR as the mopup men for next season. We need a setup man, a closer, and one more middle reliever that can pitch a lot. We need at least 3 relievers this offseason IMO, possibly four. This bullpen is BAD, and a lot of these guys don't deserve to come back. Only guys that should come back are Burnett, Frieri, Kohn, and DDLR - the rest of them need to go.
  16. We should not associate ourselves with these Commie pinkos! Obama is slowly but steadily turning us to communism!
  17. You guys want to rush to trade a usual 4 WAR player that is having a terrible year? Why not give him another season? If he plays well next year you can trade him for much more. I don't see the upside of trading him now.
  18. Don't trade him now - his value is at an all time low. Trade Kendrick and one of Bourjos/Trumbo this offseason for a starter under club control. Next offseason we can possibly look to deal Aybar for more pitching if the org. finds a replacement, or if Stamets/Rondon start progressing fast.
  19. Don't really see much with him. Decent glove, atrocious ability at the plate. 2 walks and 28 strikeouts in 104 MLB at bats is Brandon Wood level bad.
  20. Good plate discipline, drives the ball, can hit the ball to all fields...I like him at the plate a lot. He's been unlucky so far. His BABIP is only at .287. I could see that number going up. Bodes well for the future.
  21. Still doesn't change the fact that he's had one good season so far in his career and will be 27 next year. It's getting to the point where it's make or break time for Bourjos. We have a log jam of outfielders. All I'm saying is the kid better produce next year or he's going to find himself on a different team.
