  1. Ducks got raped tonight. Very embarrassing performance, and we seemed to be outcoached as well. Rakell and Lindholm are good, but as a team we flat out sucked. Rough game to watch.
  2. Richards looks like a safe bet to be a good #4 starter, possibly a 3 if things go good. He should definitely be in the rotation next year, that's a no brainer. He's young and cheap which is also huge for this team right now. If Richards is the #5 next year, I think our rotation is in great shape. I just hope Dipoto adds a upper end 3 starter this offseason through trade or by signing a guy like Garza.
  3. Didn't know that. Would like to see us sign him even more then
  4. I think Grichuk will be a better player than Trumbo. I get that Trumbo has better power, but every time I watch Grichuk, I like him. He plays good defense, he can probably hit .270 at the big league level, and has good power. Could see him being a very solid outfielder for a long time, he just does everything right except for plate discipline. He makes contact a decent amount too so that's a plus. I'd have no problem with him repeating AA to work on some things.
  5. Weaver, CJ, Garza, Vargas, Richards would be a money rotation for next year. I want a first round pick, obviously, but I won't complain if we sign Garza to an Annibal Sanchez type contract.
  6. We need some more veteran leaders that just get the job done in the clubhouse and will the team to victories, I agree!
  7. It's written into Pujols' contract that he has to hit 3rd. Scisocia will never move him out of that spot. We can expect a .250 average with 25 home runs from our #3 hitter for the next 8 years.
  8. This team is just incapable of playing well against Texas. We are their bitch, and I think everyone in both dugouts knows it.
  9. True, but in this market you're going to have to overpay because of the lack of SP talent. That's why I would prefer us to pursue pitching via trade rather than FA.
  10. I'm a little afraid to see how much we're going to overpay Vargas this offseason. Anything more than 4/40 for him is an overpayment IMO.
  11. The last thing we need is another outfielder IMO. Hamilton and Trout aren't going anywhere, Trumbo/Bourjos are both decent players that might be traded for pitching although at the moment their values are low, and we also have Calhoun who is looking like he's ready for full time PT starting next year possibly. Oh yeah, and Shuck is a pretty solid 4th OF for us. Rather sign Garza, or trade Kendrick for pitching, and keep the draft pick
  12. Kendrick has more trade value than Bourjos and Trumbo, I would imagine at this point, considering that Trumbo can't hit or field, and Bourjos can't stay healthy or hit. Hopefully we can get a cost controlled starter for Kendrick. Someone like Zach Lee, Carlos Martinez, or Tyler Glasnow.
  13. World War III here we come. And most of it is going to be our governments fault. How did this loser get re-elected again?
  14. We just retired a guys number who has Reggie Willits type numbers. Vladdy's day will come.
  15. ^^ Strawman alert ^^ That is such a ridiculous thing for you to say. My argument isn't even about errors. That's the kind of barbaric stat that gold glove voters from the BBWA use. It's about range - Cabrera lacks that big time, and the defensive metrics all back that up. If you think you're smarter than the metrics, then go ahead and keep up all the strawman arguments...
  16. That's the point of defensive metrics. They evaluate a players individual work on the defensive side, not the teams. I guess since that doesn't support your argument that Cabrera is MVP, you don't like it....
  17. So you don't want me to use Fangraphs to support my opinion, and also don't want me to use my own personal opinion? Lol, so facts and opinions are off limits in this argument? Got it. Sounds like you're the one trying to troll here.
  18. Man, the ****ing Middle East continues to be a bitch. This situation looks exactly like what happened in Iraq ~10 years ago. F'n Obama better be damn sure that asshole is using chemical weapons... Edit: Also, even if Assad is using chemical weapons, I am still 100% against us getting involved. We are in no position to get involved in this shit.
  19. I really don't think some people realize how bad Cabrera is at third base. He literally has no range at all. He's a fat lard who should be playing DH. He costs the Tigers so many runs at 3rd. Even if Trout is a replacement level defensive player like the metrics are saying he is this year (I don't believe he is), he is still SIGNIFICANTLY better than Cabrera on the defensive side of the ball. Baserunning is another thing that you have to watch Cabrera to realize how bad he is at it. He's basically Pujols on the bases. Think about all the times over the course of a season that Cabrera is on first with one out, and a Tigers player hits a single that Trout would easily make it to 3rd on, but Cabrera has to stop at second because of his utter lack of speed and athleticism. Think about all the times over the course of a season that Cabrera is on 1st with 2 outs in the inning, and a Tigers player hits a ball in the gap that Trout would easily score on, but Cabrera has to stop at 3rd because of his lack of speed. These types of things add up, and Cabrera has cost the Tigers many runs on plays that Trout would have scored on.
