  1. I wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton finished with better numbers than Trumbo this year. If Hamilton has a big month, and Trumbo continues to suck, it could happen. I don't see Trumbo being better than Josh next year. I mean Hamilton already has a higher OBP and BA than Trumbo, and his OPS is now only 18 points lower than Trumbo's.
  2. An .885 OPS at an extreme pitcher's park like Angels stadium IS a monster season. That would translate to a .920 OPS at Arlington probably.
  3. Hamilton IMO. Has more of a track record of being good than Trumbo, and has far more upside if things go right for him. Trumbo is what he is. A guy who will hit 30 home runs, but only get on base 30% of the time at the most.
  4. LOL at Aybar, Hamilton, Jimenez, and Trumbo hitting above Calhoun against a lefty. Trumbo can't hit period, and Hamilton can't hit lefties, Scioscia.
  5. I don't understand. How can Trout be a better overall player, but not be more valuable? That doesn't make sense to me.
  6. I don't think you quite understand how bad Cabrera is defensively. Also the home run argument is lame. He's on first base stationary plenty. He goes station to station on every hit to the outfield basically. He is a worse all around player than Trout.
  7. Cabrera is a terrible defender and baserunner. Why are you implying that offense is more important than defense and baserunning?
  8. LOL calm down buddy. It's just a gut feeling. If you don't agree, or don't want to read any sort of positivity, then please do us all a big favor and ignore it. The condescending one line responses are annoying.
  9. This is my prediction. I'm going to get my hopes up one more time. I think he's going to mash next year. Maybe not .300/.360/.570, but I think something like .275/.345/.540 with 33 home runs. I say he figures it out somehow. I have nothing to base this on just a gut feeling...lol I'm not very optimistic about Trumbo and Pujols though. I'm expecting Trumbo to be in Salt Lake by this time next year, and Pujols IMO is going to be an .800 OPS bat at best.
  10. Billy Beane turned his platoon power first baseman with no glove (Chris Carter) into Jed Lowrie who is having a solid season for the A's
  11. Trumbo is unbelievably bad. He's Brandon Wood with more power basically.
  12. Blanton in 2014: 3.20 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 185/35 K/BB Pitching for the Rays.
  13. Disagree with the article. The fact that Mike Trout has a shitty pitching staff around him should have no baring on who the most valuable player is. That's completely out of the players control. Trout is MVP once again this year, and is going to lose because of barbaric, idiotic writers again.
  14. Switch Aybar and Calhoun, Green and Jimenez, and it's not bad
  15. Good post Jshep. I'm with you completely on this one.
  16. Yeah, Trumbo isn't necessarily dumb. He's just not a very talented ball player. He has one tool, and even that tool disappears at times.
  17. I would forever despise Arte Moreno if he moves the team to downtown LA. We're fine where we're at. A new stadium would be nice, but we should really stay in the OC area. Hope Arte doesn't try too hard to keep up with the Dodgers...
  18. I hear that Walden guy might be having a pretty decent season.
  19. Can't wait til both Mike Scioscia and Butcher are finally fired. They can join Hatcher collecting unemployment.
  20. Wow. That's ****ing depressing. I'm starting to wonder if Trumbo can even bring back a decent pitching prospect in a trade.
  21. How is Strasburg debateable? Strasburg strikes way more batters out, allows less baserunners, and has a lower ERA. Lee pitches in an extreme hitters park, and has a lower WHIP, ERA, and has a better K rate than Weaver. I think he is better than Jered right now.
  22. King Felix Strasburg Kershaw Price Chris Sale Cliff Lee Yu Darvish Those 7 guys are certainly better than Weaver IMO. Wainwright Kuroda Harvey Fernandez Scherzer Those guys are all better than Weaver right now IMO, but can be debated I guess. So there you go. I can make a strong argument that all of those guys are better than Weaver right now. Edit: Then there are guys like Greinke, Hamels, and Annibal Sanchez who I think Weaver is on par with right now.
