I think he has been solid but not great. We have made major strides this off season as an organization. I don't think any of the top SPs really wanted to be here and we resisted the temptation to overpay for next year's CJ Wilson. With so many holes, the team needs two years to become a serious contender. We did improve the club enough to contend for the playoffs and more pitching options will be available near the deadline. He does need to get a catcher like yesterday.

I would love to see the Angels get MadBum. We are from the same small town and played at same HS years apart. He was slightly better than me. That said, I don't see him going to the AL unless there is a huge overpay. If the money is equal, he goes to the Giants, Braves,Cards, or Reds. Anyone else is will need to seriously outbid those teams. The talking heads are have to know this but I guess the need to stir up interest throwing all these teams landing spots. West has been an ass clown for years. Bumgarner crossed the line but I would guess there is some history between the two. Madison played tball for me many years ago so I am bias but he is nothing like some have described him. Ultra competitive but a very humble guy from a humble family. Agree with Chuck. For me, it is wrong but I am not the judge. I do get tired of ESPN, NFL, and now MLB praising these guys all the time. I want sports news not political points of view. Reality is that a player would catch a lot more grief for being outspoken in his faith. The media would crucify any athlete who strongly called it immoral. That would take courage.
