I believe he would have. I am Ted Cruz right and didn't vote for Trump in Primary. Sat out the election I was so pissed. I believed he would sell out. He was a democrat as late as 2008 and isn't really founded in conservatism. His judge appointments have not been exactly conservative fire brands. I really think he was neutral on many social issues. Had they gave him the wall with a few concessions they could have angered conservatives. Instead all the lies and constant attacks expanded his base to the Ted Cruz crowd. They should have lulled conservatives to sleep by playing ball. They even could have taken credit by claiming a role in the economy etc. Admit he is doing ok but we can do better and here is how. Water down his support by supporting watered down conservative policies. Most conservatives already had doubts on how he would govern. Instead they started election night with Russia and racists bs 24/7. If Dems really look at Trump the person and policy, there is a whole lot of Bill Clinton in him. Clinton wasn't an asshole but winning and women trumped political ideology with him. The extreme left just want allow moderates to thrive anymore.

That may be true. I have never really looked at the numbers on those. However, I believe most modern Dem politicians support extending the terms later and later. Very few pro life Dem politicians anymore. With self control and birth control there really shouldn't be this many abortions during any period. Glad to see someone say this about the election. I am sure we disagree on politics but it is better to debate ideas than to continue to push false criminal narratives to achieve ideas. I believe had the Dems played nice with Trump they could have moved him to left on many issues. He is not a hard core conservative by nature.
