  1. They should send Bridwell down now and bring up a bullpen arm. At this rate the pen will be burned out by the end of the month. Heaney will pitch in KC and then Bridwell can come back and start onThursday. The offense looks very good right now but this team will only go as far as the starting pitching takes it.
  2. It is not an over reaction when the guy can’t keep the ball in the park. Scary
  3. The bullpen will be the biggest disappointment. Ohtani will struggle early but by the break he should be decent. Skaggs and Heaney have to stay healthy(what are the odds) and I think Shoe will have a very good season. The other big disappointment will be the six man rotation. Taking that many starts away from Richards could cost the team too many wins.
  4. Nothing Ohtani has done this spring gives me sny confidence going into the regular season. Hopefully, it was just spring and he results change heading forward but I am not anticipating that at this time.
  5. Sorry, but Nate and I have a monopoly on Trop, besides Scioscia will probably call him Tropey!!
  6. The 2016 version of Cam would be huge. The pen is still the biggest worry entering the season.
  7. The Marlins will ask for Acuna and that will end the discussions. The Braves system is so loaded they should be patient for the 2018 class. They would have a shot at Machado and possibly Harper, though I think Harper goes to Chicago (Cubs) or the Yankees. Most experts think Acuna has all the tools to be the bext big thing. They really don’t need Yelich.
  8. Ryan wasn’t traded he left as a free agent. Buzzie thought he could replace Nolie with two 9-8 pitchers. That is what makes Buzzie a “criminal”.
  9. A healthy Bedrosian would seem like the potential closer. However, with the six man rotation it may come down to who is reasonably rested.
  10. Cron for Allen, really? The Indisns would never do that. I think we are lucky to get a middling prospect for Cron. There are still plenty of IB out there for Cleveland. I don’t think a team that won 100 games last season is looking to dump a quality pen piece for Cron.
  11. Eppler is the polar opposite of Dipoto. He works quietly behind the scenes, no negotiating in public, no moves out of desperation. A true pro and we are very lucky to have him and hopefully Arte rewards him with a nice extension.
  12. This is thrilling but returning to dominance in the West is hardly a foregone conclusion when you look at the Astros.
  13. It makes no sense to me that an extra million would make a difference to Ohtani. Whoever wins the sweepstakes can sign him to a huge contract after his first season is through. If he is a bust then he is still only going to receive the MLB minimum for three years and then have his arbitration eligiblity for three more. If he is as great as many scouts think then he will get a huge contract after one ir two seasons. I think you have to respect his word that he thinks fit is more important right now than money. I hope Eppler doesn’t try to match Seattle. Southern California and the Angels defense should be a better draw.
  14. Maybe the Angels can trade Seattle all their International bonus money if they take Pujols’ entire contract back. Dipoto just might do it!
  15. I don’t think that Eppler will sign a free agent that would cost a draft pick. He still needs to boost the value in the system. I think he sticks with Valbuena at third, trades for Hernandez or Gordon, signs a left handed first baseman( Morrison or Grandal) and signs 2 or 3 peanuts for the pen and rotation hoping they can be cleaned. They will still need a utility infielder who can play an adequate SS.
  16. Signing Moose depends on who the competition is. If the bidding goes to 4-5 years no way. I would much rather have LoMo at 2-3 years than Moose at 4-5. Save the draft picks.
  17. If Bedrosian comes back like the 2015 version then he becomes a very valuable piece. The 2016 version had a propensity for the long ball. The same can be said for Middleton. I would like to see a solid late inning lefty added, someone like Tony Watson.
  18. That solves the left field black hole for the next five years, need a left handed hitting 2nd baseman and leadoff hitter (Gordon) and a regular 3rd baseman (Nunez). Good work Eppy.
  19. Houston’s pen is so bad that I think they lose today and Friday unless Keuchel and Verlander can pitch complete games. The Astros offense doesn’t seem to be able to handle the Yanks’ pen either. Yankees vs Dodgers — might as well remove my “package”., I hate them both but I admire both of their teams.
  20. Take Trout out of the lineup amd you have a lineup of below average hitters. Too many Ks, too many GIDPs, no .300 hitters. Baseball is now more about offense and bullpens, these are the areas Eppler needs to concentrate on.
  21. The Yanks have Gleyber Torres to play third base. The Red Sox have Devers. Moose lost his two biggest benefactors and probably $20 mil.
  22. The Twins have an incredibly easy schedule and the Angels play 6 against Houston and three Against Cleveland.
  23. The big takeaway for me is that Arte has finally decided to spend whether it be Upton for four more years or another outfielder. Things may be looking up. One other question who is Upton's agent?
  24. There is still one week left in August. He can go on a tear. The Angels have no chance if he and Simmons don't turn it around.
