  1. Shit @Lou, I had no clue. You’ve always been one of the best parts of this board. I’m sure I don’t adequately understand what you and your family are going through right now, but I hope you’re taking the time you have to squeeze every freaking ounce of the good stuff out of life, however that looks for you. Hold on to every bit of it you can. I don’t know what else to say other than I hope you’re able to choose how you want everything to go in the time you have left, and you can make the best of it for you and your family. You’re a real one Lou. It’s always been an absolute pleasure to chat it up here with you.

I found Oppenheimer to be a very good film but not worthy of the hype. It was quite long and really gives us nothing we don't already know. It serves as a reminder that the FBI was just as corrupt back then as it is today.

It wasn’t revelatory or anything, but it was a really well-done movie with good writing and acting, and excellent cinematography. Well worth seeing in the theater.

  3. Who knows what this whole thing means in the long-term, but being a fan is all about moments. And yesterday was an all time great moment. I actually jumped up and screamed, alone in my living room, the instant he connected on that second HR. I know we have Statcast and all that, but as far as the eye test goes, that’s about as pure as I’ve ever seen a human being hit a baseball.

Again, who knows whatever happens this year or next, but what happened yesterday was amazing, historic, and awesome; and now we’ve all got that as fans forever, and that’s pretty freaking cool.

Wow.  Only "some" blame for the pitchers.

You probably didn't notice, but your man Estevez was needed to match up with the top of the Astro order.

I'm sorry if he wasn't accustomed to coming into the game 10 minutes early.   He was the best/maybe only choice between him, Loup, and Barria to get out of the 8th.

Is your name Tyler by chance?

Why?  No blame for the pitchers (from 7th inning on) including Estevez, who couldn't get out of an inning without coughing up a homer and multiple runs?

Or Anderson who couldn't get to the 4th inning?

Who else could Nevin put out there?

Sure, there’s some blame on the actual pitchers there. But Estevez and Barria never should have been used in the way they were tonight. There’s absolutely zero reason to do it that way.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

saw it this afternoon and it was very meh. Seems like it was made primarily for everyone who saw Raiders back in the theater when it was originally released. It’s hard for a guy in his 70s to make an action movie, and there were definitely points where the script accommodated his age or CGI/stunt double was used. The best parts of this movie focus on solving clues to find a treasure.

We find out why his son is not in this movie (played by Shia Le Bouef in the last Indy movie), and we get an update on his marriage to Marion.

There’s speculation that someone from this movie will carry on the franchise without Ford. I see it as possible.

It has a sweet ending that the old timers will appreciate.

I thought it was alright. Not like amazing, but not nearly as bad as some critics indicated. Just a solid movie theater adventure movie. I am still wondering why Indy retired from his prof position in the middle of the semester though.
