    My take is that Eppler has improved the team given the abhorrent amount of injuries in an organization with little depth. If the Angel's move away from Eppler, it will mean another 3 to 5 years of building from another GM. Might as well stay with him. It would be nice to have a 500 record this year, but I'm less and less optimistic of that happening.

    Didn't Doug White come from the Astros? I assume this is what they were figuring when he was hired. I imagine having three (now 4) starters getting deeper into games is helping. Hopefully White can train our youngsters to do this as well.

    I wonder if bias towards the batter or pitcher increases the blown call rate. For instance the rumor was that Greg Maddox used to get several balls called strikes. I remember him being visibly upset when he pitched against the Angel's with AL umps. Another thing, these numbers are horrible, even for the better umps. In the real world you would be fired for an 8% error rate. Maybe the 2nd base ump should call balls and strikes.

    Looking at all of your predictions gives me a better feeling going forward. If the Angels can, in house have several 3's and 4's with hopefully a 2 they should do pretty good over the next few years. Here's to something breaking our way for a change.

    I think the organization was worse than all of us anticipated. Any amount of glue, clean peanuts, etc. won't hide that fact. It has been a long slow build. But at least it was done without tanking.
