    He can be signed after the June draft. Boras should have told him to accept. I'm not opposed to signing him in June. Reminds me a little of Chuck Finley's case. He didn't accept arb, and ended out of baseball.

    Two days later and I'm still upset about this move. Jerome proved he could give a quality start nearly every time out. How much would he cost in arbitration? 4 or 5 million? How much for a comparable starter? 8 million? Doesn't make sense.

    I guess the real question, can the Angels do better than Jerome? 200 innings with a 4.5 era. I think that is one of Dipoto's shortcomings.

    I wonder about polygraphs. I had one while in college for a part time position. My previous job was at a liquor store. One of the questions was had I ever drank on the job. I even told the interviewer, Did you see who my previous employer was? The truth was yes I had, I figured I wouldn't pass, and not get the job. I passed the test.

    More I think of this, the more I agree with TrollDaddy. By virtue of the advertisement, the Angels are endorsing the product. I think they should be very careful with what they associate the Angels product with. Arte is a marketing person. He should know this.

    Funny, I think I posted at one point last year that Shuck needed to be sent down because of his defense.

    I could see Naps not fitting in with the Halos. If I remember correctly Wilson was getting in a few games for defensive reasons, ahead of both Napoli and Mathis. One of the Angels / Red Sox games that year, Mathis airmailed a throw to centerfield, and a Red Sox fan remarked, "you don't see that every day!" I had to speak up and tell him that he didn't see the Angels all the time then.

    Lots of players get rings. Not just the ones that played in the World Series. That said, he could have made time to get to the ceremony, or picked up the ring later.

    I'm still trying to figure out that he knew how to turn just the flashers of a fire truck. Seems a little far fetched.
