They're not rushing things. He has to be protected on the 40-man next year, anyway.  He's just on the taxi squad now, so this is likely just a way to get him some exposure to big league games during the regular season, without actually adding him to the active roster.

Meh. Not a fan of rushing things in a lost season. Let him spend next year in AAA and if he performs well call him up next September

Really all that needs to be said. If I saw a guy who looked like that walking down the street I'd cross to the other side cause he'd probably belch out a cloud of salami gas in my face

And if Cartaya is 9th, how the heck is Quero not even top 100?
His rookie AND A ball stats are every bit as good as Cartaya’s?
About to play A+ ball in 2023 at just age 20!

Cartaya is definitely getting his ranking inflated by virtue of being in the Dodgers system. I think there's a strong chance he's packaged in a trade this offseason for a star, like Keibert Ruiz was.

It almost seems like his ranking has dropped since he got traded to the Angels. Meanwhile they have Cartaya ranked 9th and he may not even stick at catcher.

I am surprised by how much time and attention people are given to Davidson. Maybe I'm missing something, but all I see is another mop-up type ala Barria and McNaughton. Dime a dozen, really.

Albert was a symbol of pure greatness as a Cardinal.
Albert was a symbol of pure mediocrity and underachieving as an Angel.
    Cardinal fans should love him.
Baseball fans should marvel at 700 homers.
Angel fans have every right to be completely irritated by him.
All of these things can be true.

Had the directive to remain 'competitive'.   So you trade org capital to get to 80 wins instead of 77.   Sometime it doesn't hurt as bad when the players moved flame out but it's ultimately a waste of resources if you don't win enough games to make the playoffs or you don't eventually trade the player you received for someone useful in return.  See Andrelton Simmons etal.
Or because of the directive, everything you trade for typically has to an mlb ready or near ready player.  Decreasing the value of what you can get in return.  Billy was really quite terrible under that philosophy when it came to the major league club.  Small sample strength for guys below AA.  If he'd stuck with that from the beginning we'd have a much different looking org right now.
But instead, we got Bundy and Alex Meyer, and Ricky Nolasco and Kinsler and Maybin and Espinosa and Revere and Escobar and Upton etc.
The competitive rebuild on a limited budget is the ultimate farce in all of pro sports.  You are neither actually rebuilding appropriately nor remaining competitive.  They should call it what it really is.  A long, slow and painful partial rebuild while trying to keep the fans interested so revenues don't drop too much.
    Thanks Arte.

WAR isn't an accurate way to truly measure the skill level and value of a player like Ohtani (and it has nothing to do with the argument of him freeing up an extra roster spot).
It's the equivalent of someone, for example, playing in the NFL at a high level at both linebacker and WR. Stats wouldn't properly describe how impressive and ridiculous that is, and that player would still lose the MVP most years to whichever QB threw for 45 TD's and 5k yards.

He can eat shit. His legacy deserves to be permanently tarnished, yet half a season of record-chasing is making everyone forget how big of a piece of trash he was, both in terms of attitude and on-field performance, for an entire decade while he was here. Easily my most hated ex-Angel.
