  1. Wilson was a #1 on a team that won two consecutive pennants but I guess that qualifies as a #5 now.
  2. So tonights' leadoff hitter is a guy who didn't get called up last year for a team that lost 107 games? The piece!!!!
  3. 1992. I've been an Angels fan since '78. That was the only season where I knew on opening day that they had absolutely no shot of making the post season. Von Hayes in RF batting 3rd and Hubie Brooks DH batting clean up. Minnesota and the Oakland Roiders still in their prime years. Because of the pitching, that team actually started out 8-6.
  4. It never ceases to amaze me when other managers make pitching changes to get better match ups in 3-4-5 run games but Mike doesn't do it with the game on the line.
  5. I've had snippets of the opera Carmen running through my head since the first inning. Hanson has been doing an amazing Rudy Stein impersonation all night.
  6. Hell, Shields, Donnelly, even Lou Pote, would be more consistent than Lowe/Jepsen.
  7. I love when people keep bringing up 2002. If this team had that 2002 manager who actually gave a damn, and that talented bunch of coaches, I wouldn't be as depressed.
  8. You mean that befuddled look that Sosh gives the ump every now and then doesn't fire up the troops???
  9. So if they're 10-20 after 30 games does Sciocia need to go? Seriously, I would like one of the Scioscia apologists explain how bad would it have to be before the guy should be fired? 2-12? 5-15? Never???
  10. Charlie Brown believing just ONCE, Lucy's going to let him kick that football.
  11. How can Albert drive in runs? The Hamilton's swinging the bat, he's getting pitched like Barroid used to.
  12. I'm still stuck on "they are the only two I would want other than Sosh". I hope your only talking about unemployed managers.
  13. Remembe when Scioscia had Joe Maddon, Ron Roenicke and Bud Black as his coaches and was considered the best manager in baseball?
  14. The guy has already been up with the bases loaded and less than two outs 3 times already and hasn't managed to drive in even ONE runner. Throw in his 0-10 against lefties and he's completely lost right now. Obviously, the other pitchers know this as well. Albert has already walked more times than he did in his first 40 games last year. Trout, Pujols and Hamilton all hit Milone hard last year so hopefully they can get things turned around tomorrow.
  15. Erstad as manager Don Baylor as bench coach Percival as pitching coach. I don't think you'd see too many guys looking like they're going through the motions.
  16. 2 for 13 with RISP. That actually raised their overall average this season from .111 to .121. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Injuries had absolutely nothing to do with last season's failure.
  18. Considering this team, at this moment, is hitting .121 with RISP, the answer is pretty much everyone who's picked up a bat this season.
  19. After tonights debacle, this team will be 45-55 in April games since 2009. The players always talk about how great and loose Mike's spring trainings are. Obviously, whatever atmosphere he's creating there is not getting his clubs ready to give a championship level of performance out of the gate.
  20. Among the MANY frustrating things last season, injuries was not one of them. In fact, the biggest injury last season (Vernon's) ended up being the best thing that happened all season. Not that Richards is going to be a Trout-like replacement, but hopefully he goes out and proves that he's at least a number 3 starter in this league.
