It's not that we aren't excited about Green. It has become very easy to even lose interest inTrout at this point. Angels baseball is the worst thing out there right now.

HaloSkinsFan reacted to Troll Daddy in Here we go again: Mike Trout more valuable than Miguel Cabrera, says ESPN analyst
The thing is that Cabrera is doing it under the pressure of a playoff race and batting third in the lineup.
Trout's doing it in a no pressure situation batting second and hasn't shown he can hit well in clutch situations.
I like Cabrera or Chris Davis FTW

re: "fault" - of course it's not Scioscia's fault that the team is playing poorly, just as it can never directly be the manager's fault - they aren't the ones playing.  But if you're trying to tell me that Scioscia as manager isn't part of the reason the team is where it is, then you're saying managers have zero effect on teams' performance, and that simply isn't true.  If for no other reason, doesn't everyone think it's time to try something new?  Clearly the current situation is broken.

wow. that is extremely impressive.  Angels better lock his ass up this off season or there will be bad blood come free agency.

Probably because there hasn't been much to be excited about this year.  Nice to see a kid come up and actually acclimate

Love seeing this dude play. He's bringing a very high IQ batting approach to our lineup. We desperately need it!

Seeing these guys like Calhoun and Shuck play is a lot more fun than the overpaid weenies.  Shuck may not be the most talented player but he plays hard every day.

At least I'm still a Braves fan.

The last two games have been a microcosm of the season. Last night we scored 11 runs, took a four-run lead with six outs to go and lost in extra innings. Tonight we got a great outing from an unexpected source, scored one run and lost in the bottom of the ninth.

Mike Trout has to be marking the days until free agency on the wall like a guy doing 20 years marking off time in his prison cell.

The GM is supposed to put the team in a good position to win. I thought Dipoto has done that the past two seasons.

Not his fault the players underperformed two years in a row.

Callaspo sure didn't look good this afternoon.  The guy is a .250 hitter at best. He may have been a nice guy but we can do much better at that position.

    I'll post this here too...

How is it Jerry Dipoto's fault that:

Hamilton is mired in prolonged slump.

    Madson/Burnett non-factors due to injuries.

Pujols played on one leg and is out for the final two months.

    Vargas blood clot.

Hanson had death in family, injuries.

    Weaver broken elbow.

Peter Bourjos injured, TWICE in the midst of having a great season.

Joe Blanton has been the worst he has been by far at any time during his career.

Mike Scioscia has made some of the worst calls from the dugout that I've seen in a long time.

Is Jerry Dipoto perfect? Nope. But you can't fault him for trying to put an amazing team together. Where he could have done a better job is...

Kept Santana, not signed Joe Blanton.

Signed a sure thing closer like Rafael Soriano, then signed Madson for insurance if anything else.

Not signed Josh Hamilton, kept Torii Hunter for two years. Kole Calhoun as Torii's insurance.

But yeah, it's easy to second guess the GM. We were all excited about Josh Hamilton. Most thought Blanton would post a 4.50 ERA and give us some quality starts, and we ALL thought Madson would be back by May the latest. Most were happy to see Santana go as well.

I believe Scioscia is still capable of being a great manager. I just don't think it is with this team and this roster.

Jason seems like a nice guy, I have nothing personal against any of these guys.  Terry Smith is a good radio announcer.  But there's got to be pressure to not say anything negative about Scioscia.  When he's fired the general attitude on AM830 will become "It was a long time coming."

Scioscia's way of managing and motivating his team has not worked in 4 years.

There's seriously got to be a club policy that if you work for AM830, you MUST make excuses for Mike Scioscia.

Once Scioscia gets fired you'll see how most of these Angels radio guys are just pushing what they're told to push.

Scioscia leaving and being replaced by a fresher face (who isn't a screamer but expects results) and a fresher coaching staff is only one of the ways to fix this mess. But it is a necessity.
People say it's not our money when Moreno spends. Doesn't the same apply to paying out the last 5 years ($25 million) on Scoiscia's contract and bringing someone else in?
If the managing change was one of the things needed, isn't it then money well spent?
