Good. We all know how well Sosh motivates the troops.

Obviously the only competetive advantage would be if they could find someone who could post a higher ops than bourjos in left.

Lol, the decision to call for the suicide squeeze in that spot was complete retardation.

full circle reacted to rick99gtp in Hamilton kinda sucks, dawg
This is what 'they' warned us about. Of course, living in Texas affords me to be able to watch most of the Ranger's games. I've seen plenty of Hamilton to understand exactly what they mean by..."when he's on..he's on...and when he's off...he's WAY OFF"

Yep, this is total failure from owner to front office to MLB team to farm system to scouting to foreign presence.
Is there anything in that group that this org rates solidly in????
And people thought Disney was a bad owner?
WS titles: Disney 1, Arte 0

We are 12th in runs scored and 12th in runs given up in the AL. Sounds like half to me

Still not going to put the majority of blame on Dipoto. He had no farm system and it was Moreno's decision to pursue Pujols and Hamilton. End of story.

full circle reacted to Jason in Whatever you guys want to say, Trout isn't as fast as he was last year.
I care too. Trout is too talented to let himself go and get lazy on his off season workouts.

full circle reacted to Docwaukee in "It didn't start well last year and I stayed around all season and it got better,"
That was actually a decent read although it could have been better if not for Simers petulance and narcissism. The 'Angry Arte' moniker is petty and detracts from what was pretty interesting.
The one thing of note that I found very telling about the situation that MS is in is that he made a point to mention the bullpen as a weak point and that all other winning teams have had good pens.
I can't disagree with him on this and even though the starting pitching isn't very talented, it has certainly kept them in games and given them a chance to win as of late. With the exception being the players filling in for Weave.
It's my biggest disappointment with dipoto and he's setting MS up for failure to some degree as MS tends to save the back end of his pen for games they are winning and uses the front end in close games where the halos are tied or down by a small amount. The last two years in particular we have seen a lack of talent turn close games into automatic losses. It has been my mantra about improving this team from day one.

full circle got a reaction from SlappyUtilityMIF in Where would we be without Frieri?
You also can't argue that not signing Krod was a bad decision either. It's a sad indictment of our player development that we haven't groomed a good closer since the end of 2008.
Frieri is already pretty good, but he's starting to get exposed and needs that second pitch to make him effective enough to close.

Now your arguing Krod's appearances weren't an adventure? What is your point?

full circle reacted to EE_ in Terrible Pitching, Richards...
Another pitcher with a great arm that doesn't know how to pitch.
What were Butchers qualifications to be hired by the Angels? One terrible year with Tampa? Isn't it interesting how TB allowed him to take a lateral job with the Angels without requiring compensation? If they viewed Butcher as a valuable commodity would that have happened?
No. He got his job with the Angels because he was good buddies with the fat man. Nepotism.
Why does an organization that aspires to be among the best in the game rely on a coach with no proven track record of success? Well, in his seventh year Butcher is very proven now. He sucks. He is incapable of getting the best out of the pitchers under his guidance.
I don't want to hear the blatherings of some sycophant demanding "proof" that Butcher is responsible for year after year of poor pitching. Butcher is compared to his peers and I don't think even the most pathetic pollyana could make a case that Butcher is among the best in his field. You don't need proof. You just need to believe that one of his peers is better. A very low standard.
I'm sure Butcher will "sleep like a baby" tonight because "he knows how good he is". In reality he probably sleeps like a baby because of who he knows instead of what he does.
