The Angels will be roughly 30-35 mil under the tax threshold, with needs at 2nd, 3rd, and the pen I sincerely doubt thay would sign a TORP. Arrietta and Darvish don’t qualify as one to me. Upgrade the offense and have a solid pen.

The way the roster looks today the position players worth keeping with Trout are Simmons and Maldonado. The top position players in the system are at the lower levels of the minors. There is no power hitting first basemen, no sure thing at second or third. In 2020-21 Trout can be flanked by Adell and Jones. The only saviors will be healthy starters among Heaney, Skaggs, Tropeano and who ever is brought up from the minors. 
It is way too hard to predict with any certainty where #27 will wind up. The prudent thing may be to check out trade possibilities in a couple years if the Angels are still floundering.

Over the last 5 seasons, he as averaged 32.6 hr/seasons (not counting 2017), which would land him juuust below 300. But, given the fact that he has been trending up, and averaged 35.5 over the last 3 seasons (if he does that again, he will nudge just over 300) and technically would be on pace for 49.5 this year if it wasn't for that injury (a pace that would put him near 350 by the end of his contract), he should hit 300. Assuming nothing horrible happens. *knock on brandon wood*

Being that both Morin and Alvarez will be out of options (I think) next year, it's likely this is their last chance to prove anything. Once the vet RPs get dealt (be it now or in August) we may as well give them one last look with their back to wall and see if they show any reason to bring them into ST next year. Especially when so much of the pen will turn over this offseason anyways.

Seriously though.  that would have to be the one thing that would probably make me not enjoy baseball for a really long time.  

He looks both disinterested and dispassionate. I wpuld speculate that the PEDs wore off around the middle of last season and all the abuse to his body from drugs and alcohol have rendered him a shell of his former self. The next 41/2 years willbe more of the same unless he dedicates himself to improve.

I would make everyone except Trout and Trumbo available. It is extremely hard to find a 40 homer guy to replace Trumbo, also Albert will mhave to move to full time DH (should do it now.).
Start next season with a new manager and staff.
The Angels need to go heavy into the foreign market the next two years before MLB institutes a draft of foreign players. I hope Dipoto and staff are capable of this. We shall see shortly.
Oh, if Butcher is not replaced ASAP then there is no hope. He brings nothing to the staff.

It is one bad season out of several good to great ones.  I don't expect this to linger past this year.

Barry Enright is a pretty good pitcher.

No way to put together a winning streak with this pitching staff, so forget it. At least we will have a protected draft pick next season.

Actually, the best way is not to go to the Big A. Empty seats will provoke a move faster than anything else.

Santana, as exasperating to warch at times, is still far superior to Blanton. Ar least Santana has Major League stuff, Blanton would be a fifth starter in the Independent league.

So Dipoto shares no responsibility for the pitching staff he assembled?  It looks to me as though he acquired a box of rocks and told Scioscia and Butcher to make a sand castle out of it.
